  Online shopping scores!
Posted by: Oh_hunnihunni - 03-11-2021, 02:13 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I am so impressed! Yesterday I found a golf umbrella on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond, online at a really good discount - and I have been wanting one that would protect me and the scoot in the event of one of Auckland's showers. So, I registered, did the purchasing thing and got my emailed confirmation at 2.19pm. At 2.54pm I got the dispatch notice.
That has to be some kind of miracle efficiency on top of a brilliant price score.

I love it when that happens. Now, I just hope the courier is as good...

Will the day ever come, when someone puts their brain into gear, to stop the public sale of these things.

Why would we keep being allowed to buy the things that terrorises our poor we furbabies, not to mention that they can maim people.

  Beefsteaks? In!
Posted by: Oh_hunnihunni - 01-11-2021, 12:15 PM - Forum: Gardening & DIY - Replies (3)

I was given two good beefsteak seedlings at the weekend so have dug a nice deep hole for each, replaced the earth with milk powder laced compost embellished with slow release pellets, stirred it around and then redug a nice deep spot for the babies and popped them in. The soft warm soil is heed well up around the stems and they have carrots tp keep them company, so they should be very happy in that sunny spot.

When I do the next grocery run I shall get myself a pot of basil plants and do a couple of cuttings to help the tomatoes along. Now all I need is the cuke seeds to germinate - fingers crossed...

Could you live in a tiny home??
Posted by: crafters_corner - 01-11-2021, 10:31 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

I could, quite happily.
I've been watching a few programmes on the tele, with people either building them for a client, or selling them as is.

It's amazing what you can fit into a tiny house.

  Sunday Dinner

I have gone vegetarian again. Sort of not really but...

End of the week vegetable bin clear out, gets parcooked then tipped into a big baking dish and liberally coated with an hollandaise style creamy sauce with parsley and fine chopped multicoloured chard added before more cheese is added as a topping. Into the oven for thirty minutes till bubbling and golden. Then, on the side, fine chopped bacon sizzled to release the fat, before rough chopped chicken fillet is added, and then tossed through the leftover chilli beans from the fridge.

Enough for tomorrow, easy reheat, after a good sunny day (fingers crossed) so I can scoot up the hill to replenish the vegetable bin in the fridge. And get more apples. And sliced almonds if he has them...

Life is good.  Heart Heart Heart
