Big Grin Jokes and Funnies...
Posted by: crafters_corner - 07-11-2021, 12:14 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (84)

Lulu was a prostitute, but she didn't want her grandma to know.
One day, the police raided the brothel and took all the girls outside and made them line up.
Suddenly, Lulu's grandma came by and Grandma asked, "Why are you standing in line here, dear?"
Not willing to let her grandma know the truth, Lulu told her that the police were passing out free oranges and she was just lining up for some.
"Why, that's awfully nice of them. I think I'll get some for myself," Grandma said, and she proceeded to the back of the line.
A policeman was going down the line asking for information from all the prostitutes. When he got to grandma, he was bewildered and exclaimed, "Wow, still going at it at your age? How do you do it old girl?"
Grandma replied, "Oh, it's easy, dear. I just take my dentures out,
rip the skin back and suck em' dry."
The policeman fainted.

A Cheating husband decided to write this letter
to his wife. My Dear Wife, You will surely
understand that I have certain needs that you,
Being 54 years old, can no longer satisfy. I am
very happy with you and I value you as a good
wife, however, after reading this letter I hope
you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will
be spending the evening with my 18 years old
secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel. Please don't
be upset, I shall be back before midnight".
When the man came home late that night he
found a reply of his letter on the dining room
table: My Dear Husband, I received your letter
and thank you for your honesty about my being
54 years old. I would like to take this
opportunity to remind you that you are also 54
years old. As you know, I am a maths teacher at
our local college. I would like to inform you that
while you read this, I will be at the Hotel Fiesta
with Michael, one of my students, who is also
the assistant tennis coach. He is young, virile and like your secretary, he is 18 years old. You being a successful businessman with an excellent knowledge of maths you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one small difference; 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18.
Therefore I will not be home until sometime tomorrow!!!

  My Cameras.
Posted by: Rumpelteazer - 07-11-2021, 09:55 AM - Forum: Cameras - Replies (4)

I do  not wish to intrude on Praktica's thread as I can in no way match his extensive camera range nor his expertise.  Neither is this a true collector's thread as I do not still possess all these cameras I have had in the past.
I shall therefore start this separate thread and endeavour to list and describe the cameras I have had in the past.

My very first camera was one I inherited from my father.   It was an Eastman Kodak 116 Box Brownie.  These were manufactured by Eastman Kodak in USA from 1917 in various models through until the 1930's  My father must have acquired this in the early 1920's and I inherited it in the early 1940's.    It had a problem that it let in the light badly so you were never sure how much if any of a photo you were going to capture.
It was similar to this [Image: st538756449-vintage-eastman-kodak-black-...el-116.jpg]

Have you ever pulled out of buying due to LIM?
Posted by: kiwi - 07-11-2021, 04:59 AM - Forum: Real estate - Replies (5)

Hi
I made an offer subject to LIM, builder's report, finance and sale of my existing houses.
So while I was making calls arranging other things on my lunch breaks I put LIM application on the back burner. Now that a week has passed and I get around to the LIM I see it takes 10 working days for them to process the information. But I had to fulfill that condition withing 15 days.

So how important is a LIM? Just to make sure the building(s) on site match the LIM? Or are there other things I should be looking for?

Just to make things more stressful, when the agent was signing me up for the sale of my properties she said I should check with my accountant to make sure I won't have to pay tax on the sale of the rental. I've owned the house I live in for 20 years. I've owned the rental since about Sep 2016. I'm not gst registered. I have not heard from my accountant and could not get through to IRD. (Who could get through to IRD on a half hour break?)

  Licking the bowl
Posted by: yousnoozeyoulose - 06-11-2021, 06:53 PM - Forum: Recipes - Replies (4)

You've mixed up the ingredients and chucked your baking in the oven.

Who here gets out the scraper or spoon and helps themselves whatever is left in the mixing bowl? I'm sure some don't (eww, uncooked things!), but quite often it tastes better than whatever disaster you'll eventually pull out of the oven.

As a kid (and even now), I was always hanging around the kitchen when Mum was doing some baking. Good times.

How are you handling the FluBot?
Posted by: sarahk - 06-11-2021, 12:27 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (2)

I'm getting tons of text messages because NZ Android users have been caught out by the FluBot.

Has anyone got a successful way of dealing with these?

Here's what I'm trying...

I noticed that the same phone numbers were sending me messages so I created a contacted called "SMS Spam" and I've blocked that contact.

Every time I get a new sender I send them a link to https://news.vodafone.co.nz/flubot and then add their number to the SMS contact - as if a person had a huge number of numbers.

  Developer Sandbox and the API
Posted by: sarahk - 06-11-2021, 10:59 AM - Forum: Trademe Discussion - No Replies

Does anyone have any experience with using the Trademe API?

I want some custom functionality that might be easier with writing my own interface but once the pile of boxes beside me are listed and sold that will be the end of this flurry of trademe activity.

If they're slow to approve then I might as well just slog on with their current interface. So... if you've done it, were they quick to approve?

Big Grin Welcome to Trade Me Discussion Board...
Posted by: crafters_corner - 06-11-2021, 10:22 AM - Forum: Trademe Discussion - Replies (5)

I am really pleased that we now have this board, to be able to ask questions about TM related issues. Hopefully, there will be people who can help in answering any TM related questions, and any opinions/thoughts/ideas are always greatly received.

I am an 'in trade' seller of crafts, and I have learned loads over the years, although I have to say, that there are many more traders who will know much more than I do, but we will all do our best to impart our knowledge.

We all hope that you enjoy it here. We are growing every day, with more members, and we are expecting that once the TM messageboards implode, that the numbers will increase, which is good for all of us. The more the merrier.

Please do read the "welcome new members' board, and check out the rules, so that you are familiar with them.

So again, a very warm welcome to you all, and I hope that you enjoy being here, and chatting to lots of lovely people. There is no better time to connect with others, with the restrictions that we have to get out and about.

  UserScripts for TradeMe?
Posted by: sarahk - 06-11-2021, 09:39 AM - Forum: Trademe Discussion - Replies (10)

I'm selling a bunch of stuff. Most of it is pick up only but some of it I'm kinda-happy to ship. (Pro tip, don't use Aramex) What I'd love is to be able to get more info on the items I'm selling, like an icon for pickup, and for shipping.

Has anyone found a userscript that can add that info to the page?

Or is there a better page to view current listings?
