Geez! I feel so sorry for Elon Musk.
Posted by: Roscoe - 15-01-2023, 11:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I have just read an article on the fact that Elon Musk has just lost $200b. It is a world record. The previous record lost was by a Japanese millionaire who lost $76b. Chicken feed.

You have to feel sorry for the man. He only has a few billion left. How embarrassing.

You and I should have such problems. I mean, we think that house prices are skyrocketing with most houses in Auckland selling for over $1m which, of course, would be just pocket money for the likes of Elon Musk.

Some people say, "$200b? Think of all that tax!" But, of course, if you can afford to lose that much then you can afford the tax on the earning of $200b. The government will love him. Undecided

  Can't paste into TMMB
Posted by: Roscoe - 15-01-2023, 08:18 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

I saw an article that I thought everyone would have found interesting but it was a bit too much to type in so I thought that I would copy and paste the article but it seems that I can't paste into TMMB. When I try the result is just a few lines. I wondered why that is and is there any way around it.

Thanks for your help.

Sad Mpox virus...
Posted by: C_T_Russell - 13-01-2023, 10:29 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (9)

WTF is going on?
It seems this virus only targets a particular demographic.
Ironically the WHO have renamed the virus to "Mpox" because they think it's name stigmatized  the African demographic, but yet all we here are LGBT demographics mentioned in every damn article.
I know people in the LGBT community who are unhappy about the stigmatization around this virus too. I don't even think it's much of an STD, but rather spreads to anybody via close contact.

TikTok star Waffler69 known for trying bizarre foods dies from suspected heart attack

TikTok star Taylor Claydorm, known by his user name Waffler69, has died from a suspected heart attack.
The social media influencer was famous for recording himself trying weird and bizarre foods and posting the videos on social media.

So what is the most bizarre food you have had?

The last time I was in Japan many moons ago I was given a so called bowl of soup to eat, god knows what was in it but it was so horrible and slimy I almost puked and of course I couldn't finish it which I think upset the chef.

"Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley has died. She was 54.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," her mum Priscilla Presley confirmed in a statement to People.
"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."
The 54-year-old musician suffered a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas home on Thursday morning in the US."

  Amarex Couriers Rant
Posted by: driftwood - 13-01-2023, 12:13 PM - Forum: PC World Chat - Replies (21)

Is this the place to complain about Amarex courier deliveries?
I imagine facebook has a section reserved for this but I'm not a user.
I don't bother filing a inquiry on their site as they don't respond until after the item is delivered.
Maybe taking several weeks to deliver an item from Christchurch to Wanaka over the Xmas period is ok.
Currently there were three of my items showing on their tracker, as at their central depot for over a week.
Yesterday they delivered one of them. When I rechecked the tracker, the other items were showing as picked up the day before.
I've been told some of the locals have been driving to the depot to try and get their items.

Instant obedience from SWMBO ! !

Never thought I'd see the day - For instant carrying out of my commands, all I have to do is order her to eat dark chocolate.   It's got a fair dose of easily assimilated Magnesium included, and she's won a Magnesium deficiency in the xmas lottery. She's also got to scoff bananas, almonds, Brazil nuts and avocados.
Worse things have happened.
