Using a terminal, such as crosh .sh script?
Posted by: Mzee - 26-07-2023, 12:58 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (2)

I want to run a script called 'uef-flash.sh' in 'Crosh'.
It is from a folder called 'scripts-master' by 'mrchromebox'.
What is the procedure to run a .sh file in Crosh?

I have an Acer Chromebook 317 CB317-1H-P5PT 17.3", has 128GB eMMC drive, & 8GB RAM. It has ChromeOS with Debian 11 running in a VM, also has Android which is useless as it is for smart phones. The Linux is good when it doesn't crash! I want to change the whole system to Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.1. I need to change the BIOS.

The Write Protection needs to be disabled, it has an unpopulated link on the Motherboard which needs connecting. Are these links standard, and are they available from the likes of PB tech?

  Old school windows update

This looks quite a cool project, not really relevant for modern systems, bit a useful tool for those into vintage computing for the likes of windows 95, 98 NT, etc.
Still a work in progress, but amazed what they have done.

  Wireless keyboard on Smart TV
Posted by: driftwood - 25-07-2023, 05:56 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (4)

I use a wireless keyboard to control my LG Smart TV.
Works quite well for the main part.
However, when using YouTube, I canÔÇÖt find a key which will do the back function.
I still have to use the factory remote for this command.
Would anyone know if there is a key or key combination that will do this?

Should we let children identify as animals?

Logical answer is no, the article is paywalled, but you get the idea what direction this is going.
And yes litter boxes are now a thing in NZ schools.
I have a reliable source who has a child attend a school in the Wellington region and they tell me their childs class has got one.

Looks like the greens will get the very thing they campaigned hard against.

As much as I don't like the guy, here's something productive he's doing.
NZ would be well suited to his small modular reactors.

Groundswell doing a great job but sadly too many townies see them as villains destroying the climate.
Look what countdown are doing.
Their prices are bad enough anyway, but with this carry on, expect to pay more for your food.

The reason our education system is in a mess

Seems Labour is intent on destroying it.
Look what they have done to the curriculum when it comes to science.
All the important subjects such as physics, biology and chemistry is gone and replaced with a bunch of Maori science that is not real science (AKA m─ütauranga M─üori) https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/te-manu-korih...anga-maori

Winston Peters has also come out and said that they are teaching a bunch of woke LGBTQ++ propaganda in the schools now too.

It's getting so bad now that my friend is moving their kids into a Christian school to get away from this and he is an atheist.
