Backs turned on David Seymour at Waitangi
Posted by: Lilith7 - 05-02-2025, 02:53 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (6)

His microphone was also removed twice...

I disagree strongly with his views but he should be given the same right to be heard which everyone else gets. If only so we can all understand  the full hideousness of his Neo Liberal ideas...

A bright spot amongst the dire mess in America
Posted by: Lilith7 - 05-02-2025, 02:35 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (1)

A  brilliant move by a judge has seen the 'proud boys' lose rights to use their pathetic name. These dregs of society were released from prison by Trump, having been sentenced to prison for damage to a black church but they 'engaged in fraudulent activity' to prevent the church from collecting damages.

The name has been given to that church & the boys have to seek permission from the church if they want to use their black polo shirts with laurel leaf....

  Beneficiary bashing
Posted by: Lilith7 - 03-02-2025, 02:28 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (2)

From our wonderful govt, frantically pointing to beneficiaries & attempting to claim that virtually everything is entirely their fault - straight out of Ruth Richardson's handbook...
Dodgy
Even this govt should be aware that, when they've cut a large number of jobs there will be people requiring support.

 https://www.odt.co.nz/news/national/more-sanctions-beneficiaries-announced

"Is there evidence that these have worked elsewhere?
If they were doing this when unemployment was falling & there were lots of jobs, you can sort of go 'ok, I can see why, how do we encourage people into jobs? But when unemployment is rising & there are fewer & fewer roles, it looks a lot like demonising people who are doing their best."
