  Years and years
Posted by: Lilith7 - 28-12-2021, 06:11 PM - Forum: Movies & TV - No Replies

Emma Thompson plays a Brit leader in this mini series, it showed last year with absolutely no publicity & is on again tonight at 9.30 on Choice. Set a little in the future in the UK, well worth seeing. Smile

Question Feeding a new kitten
Posted by: datoofairy - 28-12-2021, 01:46 PM - Forum: Pets & animals - Replies (3)

We have a new kitten (he's 7 weeks old), and I'm trying to decide whats best to feed him, within our budget.
So far he's been eating the Chef kitten food pouches and he likes that just fine.  But I think the pouches work out expensive and I dont like how much non-recyclable waste they produce.
I've looked in all our local supermarkets and no one stocks the Chef kitten food in a can any more, or the Whiskers kitten food in a can either. It seems its pouches or nothing.  The cans worked out much cheaper and the can could be recycled.  I've asked the companies if the disappearance of these ranges is just due to supply issues or if its permanent but no one has replied.
So that leaves the even more expensive 'posh' brands, however they dont seem to have any thing in kitten formula either.
Is feeding a kitten the 'adult' Chef really that bad?  I'm sure I used to years ago, before separate kitten formula was an option.  At what age can they start eating the adult food?   I do want whats best for our wee man but need to be practical about balancing it with our budget and the environment too.

Villeroy & Boch vessel ID needed
Posted by: Olive - 28-12-2021, 01:35 PM - Forum: Pottery and China - Replies (5)

I inherited this lidded vessel from someone who had inherited it from a collector great-uncle.   It is in poor condition so probably not saleable,  ut I would love to know what it is.

Height is about 27 cm, the hole in the lid is about 4cm.   The most likely use for it I can think of is as a receptacle for food scraps,  but that doesn't entirely work.   Nor does it seem like a chamberpot.

  And so the saga continues...
Posted by: crafters_corner - 28-12-2021, 09:09 AM - Forum: Trademe Discussion - Replies (13)

If you have read my other thread about the brilliant TM Chat service I received, well, sadly, the saga continues.

I thought it was a completed situation. The red faces were removed by TM, I blacklisted them, but no....

I got an email this morning from Trade Me Disputes, that says that this buyer didn't receive one of their items. "Dispute Reason: the goods or service were not supplied".

This person absolutely and categorically received all of their items. I would NEVER EVER not give them all of their items. Doing something like that is beyond my thinking.

So, I guess that I am dealing with a nasty and vindictive piece of work.

Because I had already been dealing with one of the TM Chat reps, I have emailed her to ask her if she can help me with part 2 of my buyers complaints. The email today from the disputes team asked me to make contact with the buyer and to sort out this issue with them. Obviously?? they don't know about the original issue.

Something like this has never happened to me before. I am feeling between upset and bloody angry.

Watch this space... Angry

Wedding etiquette, what shall we do?
Posted by: TinkandTiff - 27-12-2021, 04:52 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

I need advice. Last Xmas we were told to keep a certain date free for a family wedding. This person is our nephew (my husbands side). So we did. Formal invites were duly received and rsvp'd to.  Fast forward to now. My son has come down from Auckland with his partner for Xmas and booked leave to allow them to go to their first cousins wedding. My daughter and her partner have booked time off work. We all received individual invites.    4 weeks ago, we all get a text saying we are now uninvited. Due to the Covid situation, so they do not have to show vaccine passports the numbers have been drastically cut. It would seem the brides mother and sister are anti vaxxers and neither are vaccinated. The wedding is to be held at my elderly mother in laws house - in garden. With the reception at a local venue. So, we are now not going. Do we still buy them a present????? I just want to add, we are extremely hurt by this. Our kids grew up with their cousins. We literally live a few streets away. My sil is officiating the wedding. M husband is going to set up a live steam camera in the garden for them. Then coming home. Thoughts please?

  Tamaki at it again
Posted by: Oldfellah - 27-12-2021, 03:53 PM - Forum: Covid-19 - Replies (17)

Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki is under investigation after he allegedly threatened to have future mobile vaccination clinics blown up to prevent children getting their Covid-19 jab at schools.
"I'll stand down there and I'll take that school apart. If you go in there with your wagon, I'll tow your wagon away and I'll get the boys to blow it up and all your syringes, we'll run you out of town."

Investigators are assessing the information provided to them to establish whether Tamaki will face criminal charges.

Do you think he should?

Thumbs Down Lowlifes Living Amongst Us.

The sheer lack of any moral fibre, is still astonishing to me. It's difficult for most of us to fathom this sort of behaviour, but they do live amongst us.
