  "He's building concentration camps"

Some images have emerged allegedly of Guantanamo bay. If this is geninely what's happening then there could be serious violations of their human rights; there's no access to either lawyers or the outside world. Dodgy

And then they came for the pensioners...
Posted by: Lilith7 - 13-02-2025, 02:49 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (9)

Yes, it seems that our delighful & benevolent govt is to 'look' at superannuation, saying that it 'needs an overhaul'...I suspect that this will NOT involve any increase.
Aren't they just wonderfully resourceful - always thinking of new ways in which to help people. Mainly people like themselves & usually to the detriment of those on low incomes...

And no doubt 'action on the pension age' isn't going to involve lowering the age at which we become eligible. Probably just as well really, any announcement of this govt helping superannuitants might very well trigger multiple heart attacks across the country... Rolleyes

But with any sort of luck this just may be the thing which triggers Winnie to throw a massive berky...let it be so. Rolleyes Big Grin Big Grin

Windows is really pushing people to sign into a microsoft account
Posted by: nzoomed - 12-02-2025, 01:00 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (4)

With the recent updates, im seeing more and more instances of windows asking to sign into a Microsoft without any apparent way to skip the process.
Ive found in the past you can just click on skip, but now im seeing that those options are unavailable. One workaround is alt+f4 or alt+ctrl+del and close the prompt, but as usual people are inadvertently registering a Microsoft account and forgetting their passwords, sigh...

Would be great if there was some way to block this from happening by means of the registry or potentially blocking through the hosts file, etc

Allegedly a 'growing trend'...apparently, the husband is the 'natural head of the household'. Which comes as something of a shock to those of us who did most of it alone.. Big Grin Big Grin

Yeah...simply have a frontal lobotomy & hey presto - a trad wife.. Rolleyes Dodgy

"Not clear where evicted tenants will go'
Posted by: Lilith7 - 12-02-2025, 10:58 AM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

Ah well - doesn't matter does it eh - they're only poor people aren't they. Dodgy

You have to wonder just how many people they want to become homeless...

They do seem to be keen on ignoring the inconvenient fact that, if somone's struggling on a low income, to the point where they owe rent, then taking more from that limited income just isn't going to be awfully helpful. Particularly if the tenant also has mental health problems.

Take a bit of time to watch this it's really quite entertaining, the dogs on their own are worth watching.

Filmed in the area around Saugerties a town in New York State in the Catskills.
