Meta whistle blower alleges company worked with China
Posted by: Lilith7 - 10-04-2025, 03:41 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - No Replies

She told U.S. senators that the company undermined public security in order to build a $18 billion business in China.

Meta denied this. But the company does generate advertising revenue  from advertisers based in China.

Has anyone had to deal with Microsoft customer support?
Posted by: nzoomed - 10-04-2025, 12:54 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (6)

There doesnt even appear to be any support other than their AI answer phone that basically responds that we cant help you with your query.
I was having to sort out an account issue where someone was overcharged for office 365, in the end I sorted it out myself and turned out that the user had purchased a second subscription with a completley different microsoft account that I had to try and dig up from a multitude of email addresses, then reset the forgotten password.
Too bad if they were locked out of the account.

  Extreme rightwing christian views, America.

Whacko nutter fruit loop views strongly suggest that their sanity might be in question.

One wants the death penalty for false sexual assaults reports. he claims that "Metoo would end 'real' fast."  No quote on his views on any penalties for rape, but it seems unlikely he'd be in favour of the death penalty for that. The same idiot doesn't believe women ought to be able to vote.

National MP Hamish Campbell associated with Two by Twos,

a religious sect under investigation by FBI for sexual abuse.

I'm assuming this means he is a practicing member, or alt least once was?
I'm a bit surprised he is involved in politics if so. It's typically prohibited to be involved in politics in these christian fundamentalist groups.
(One exception was the exclusive brethren with their pamphlet campaign in 2005, despite them not allowed to vote.)
It most certainly is prohibited with the Jehovah's witnesses, and this cult shares many similarities.

New gene technology bill is concerning

But where are the greens kicking up about all of this?
I think they secretly support it because they want to use genetic engineering to save the climate.
