NZ methane emissions don't even register on the map
Posted by: C_T_Russell - 06-04-2025, 05:49 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (6)

Yet we are still planning to send 21 billion dollars overseas due to the Paris agreement.
This whole thing is a scam and the global elites will be laughing.

Good thing that Trump pulled out of it, the rest of the world will probably follow suit hopefully

Proposed by David Seymour.
This should put the whole thing to rest.

There are protests planned across various states for April 5th.

San Francisco

"Expected to draw 250,000 people across the country. Protesters will ask Trump & Musk to take their hands off the programmes that middle class & working families rely on."

"Hands off! Immigration. Medicaid. Worker's rights. Unions. Education. You name it - we're drawing the line"

The Treaty principles bill should not proceed
Posted by: Lilith7 - 04-04-2025, 02:36 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

According to Parliament's justice committee 90% of those making submissions say it should never have been submitted & don't want it to proceed.
I hope that's an end to it.

The good old 4K video downloader doesn't seem to work anymore.

What's the best video downloading app for use with Youtube; mainly for music/songs.

Phil Goff sacked after comment about Trump
Posted by: Lilith7 - 04-04-2025, 02:29 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (5)

This seems very much over the top; his comment was simply asking a question, & asking whether Trump understands history is certainly relevant to current events. I'm not a fan of his but surely any politician asking that particular question is doing their job.  Dodgy

And now they're going after Housing...
Posted by: Lilith7 - 03-04-2025, 02:43 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (8)

"No reason for Kainga Ora houses in Remuera"....
The delightful govt. is planning to sell 200 houses in Remuerua, worth about $2 million each, the money allegedly to be invested in "more affordable areas"

Yeah...can't have the peasants rubbing shoulders with the alleged 'elite' can they... Dodgy

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/540...ut-2m-each

And if that wasn't enough, they'll also remove  over 600 roles so that they can 'renew' the organisation. Surely, even these clowns can't seriously believe Kainga Ora can possibly function better with fewer workers.
Anyone with a cynical turn of mind might think they want to privatise housing... Dodgy
They tend to give the impression that they dont think poor people deserve decent housing, instead seeing housing as yet another means to make money. Angry

"Lack of prosess over Treaty Principles Bill
Posted by: Lilith7 - 03-04-2025, 02:29 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

The select committee will report back on Friday, which is more than a month ahead of time; which means thousands of public submissilons will be excluded.

Anyone might suspect that was deliberate... Dodgy Angry

Elon is not pleased;Susan Crawford wins Wisconsin S.C race
Posted by: Lilith7 - 02-04-2025, 02:40 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (7)

Elon Musk apparently spent millions on opposing her but Susan Crawford has won a seat on Wisconsin Supreme Court, which gives Liberals a narrow majority. They'll now have a 4-3 majority, which could prove crucial if it decides cases about abortion, Unions & bargaining rights.
