  The Grand...
Posted by: yousnoozeyoulose - 26-11-2021, 04:06 PM - Forum: Pottery and China - Replies (5)

Today's collectibles conundrum comes the way of this attractive wee demitasse cup and saucer branded "The Grand".

The saucer dates from 1946/8, stamped with Gibson & Paterson who supplied a lot of hotelware throughout the country. The cup is stamped Scoular, a Dunedin importer.

My question... who were they for? There's a multitude of "Grand Hotel" in NZ, but I guess I'm looking for "The Grand". Any clues?

New Covid Variants in South Africa.

Gauteng is my own province. Born in Pretoria. Has a very high population of black South Afrikans. Very worrying, to ever get back home again.

  Does Tom Cruise?
Posted by: yousnoozeyoulose - 26-11-2021, 10:14 AM - Forum: Travel - Replies (1)

I like travelling solo. Still not sure about cruises in this time and place, but good to see the cruise lines are making more than a token effort to appease the singletons.

Note that they're not sailing for another year and a half... maybe things will be different by then?

  Cycling NZ

I see this as another head that has rolled, in light of the tragic death of Olivia Podmore.

Cycling NZ have shown that they don't have their eye on the ball, and need to get their heads out of their arse, and give these athletes what they deserve.

I have so many recipes I've downloaded and have them stored in various places on my ipad,  Bookmarks, Favourites, Notes and photos.  Im interested to know where you all file yours.  Do you have a favourite app thats simple to use.
Looking forward to any suggestions.
Thanks.

I loaded my covid pass onto my phone
Posted by: Praktica - 25-11-2021, 05:15 PM - Forum: Covid-19 - Replies (14)

as a jpeg, a snip of the pass part from the PDF. The phone's screen is too small for it to be useful, so now I have a printed copy, cut out and glued to card, in a small plastic bag in my wallet.

Question Do you need a pass on public transport

If not why not ?
They have to be a brilliant way of transmitting the ol covid.
You could easily have 6 strangers within 2m of you.
Coupled with air con helping to circulate it.
