Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any shops that still have the drink "OVI" in stock? And whether the store sells online?
I'm sorry if this post in the wrong area, i just wasn't sure where else to ask and i'm not local to NZ.
Thanks in advance  Smile

Where can i find a free or cheap PC in Auckland
Posted by: Red63 - 19-12-2021, 06:42 PM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (8)

Hi

Hoping someone can help. I have a friend who lives in Auckland who is a sickness beneficiary and his Windows computer is too old to keep going anymore.
He's in his late 50s, lives alone and simply cannot afford a new one.  He is often in hospital and I'm hoping someone may be able to help him out with a PC with a VGA connection that they are replacing and may want to pass on or sell for a token amount.

He has tried lots of places to find one and WINZ cannot help, apparently, there is a 3-month wait to use the PC at the library?? He lives in the Avondale area.

Many thanks

  Vaccinations kill two
Posted by: Magoo - 19-12-2021, 03:45 PM - Forum: Covid-19 - Replies (79)

i think we need to acknowledge the two cases of death following the intake of vaccine.
it causes myocosis or somesuch in very rare cases. im not a doctor
thats 2 deaths in 4 million doses? a very rare occurrence

i think they should be treated like heroes.
posthumous medals for bravery and integrity.
they died trying to keep others safe. they werent bleating about it with a sign in a protest
they werent decrying it on social media, they died noble and meaningful deaths
they took one for the team, the ultimate sacrifice.
bless them.

  Do you like doing housework?
Posted by: crafters_corner - 19-12-2021, 12:03 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (28)

If you are in a relationship, do you share the chores?

I wouldn't say I like it, but the after affects gives me a buzz and a sense of pride.

I don't iron anymore. I used to iron everything...tea towels, and even my bath towels, as it made them lovely and soft, and I could fold them much neater.

When all my girls were young, I used to iron all their wee dresses, and I loved doing it. The ironing board was always ready for the next big pile. I was very domesticated back then.

  Getting older...and living alone
Posted by: crafters_corner - 19-12-2021, 11:39 AM - Forum: Health & beauty - Replies (21)

Do you worry about aging, and how you are going to cope being on your own?
If you get sick?

Do you worry that you might have to move to a retirement village?
Or go and live with family?

Is the pension enough for you to survive on your own, if you're keeping good health?
(not meant to be a personal question, about other monies you might have)

Will you have to downsize?
What will happen to all your things, that take up space?

Will your family take care of you?

  Thank Goodness

Thank goodness for these message boards and the sometime intelligent people on them  Big Grin
I have just been over to the "other message board site" and honestly to put it mildly what a bunch of wankers they are.
Trumpism at its finest, antivaxxism at its finest, racism at its finest, if all those idiots were on the Trademe boards no wonder they were closed down.

Yes these boards may be slow at times and mostly sane and I would rather be here than over there.
Has anyone had any experiences over there on the dark side?

  Unconsented work. Cross lease.
Posted by: kiwi - 19-12-2021, 04:33 AM - Forum: Real estate - Replies (5)

Hi.
I'm looking at a house which is cross lease. It has a garage joined on to the house and a conservatory both of which are unconsented and I assume did not go through the legal process to get permission from the other owner.

Does anyone have any advice about the possible implications?

I am asking my conveyancer as well but thought I'd cast the net a bit wider. And generate a bit more activity on the forums Smile

I don't like the house actually. My wife does. It would almost leave enough money over to pursue the things I love.

  Beetroot.
Posted by: Zurdo - 18-12-2021, 05:06 PM - Forum: Gardening & DIY - Replies (22)

Pulled my beetroot today - sliced and steaming. So I'll have some nice beetroot for my sammies over Xmas...but not my own tomatoes or cucumer yet. I've got some more seedings underway, so maybe they will be ready when the tomatoes are in full flight. If they do - birds and bugs took half my tomato plants, so I've let the selfsets have their own way...what will I get ?
