  so on the plus side
Posted by: allblack - 26-12-2022, 02:28 PM - Forum: PC World Chat - Replies (10)

I have a new AIO, HP being my flavour of choice. It's got an AMD, but apparently I can live with that.

On the 'I hate life' side, in my haste to grab a deal at HN I failed to investigate HDMI ports, to ensure one was 'In'.

As it turns out it's an 'Out' only, so there's no more running my PS4 thru my AIO screen.

Pissed off much? Yeah.

Google tells me there's no way around this, just tough tittie.

Why would you pay for Sky when you can get it on You Tube?
Posted by: Roscoe - 26-12-2022, 06:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

We get the Listener each week and I see on the Sky channels some programmes that I find interesting and would like to watch but I don't have Sky but I find that the programmes are available on You Tube and so I just cast from them from my PC to the TV. So I wonder if it is worth the money when they come for nothing? And it's not illegal. Anyone can access You Tube and so can watch Sky programmes and so if you are on the pension as we are, then anywhere you can make savings is a good idea. So give it a go and watch Sky programmes for nothing. And let's face it - there's sweet fanny adams on free to air TV.

  Win11 Taskbar clock -seconds
Posted by: Galaxy01 - 25-12-2022, 09:01 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (5)

How to enable the Taskbar clock to show seconds?

In my Taskbar behaviors settings, there's no option to "Show seconds in system tray clock"  as suggested some sites.

Windows 11 Version: 22H2 (OS Build 22621.963)

There's no updates available.

Is anyone else subscribed to threads on this forum, with email notifications turned on - and actually getting them?

I am not - and they're not going into spam, either.

  Help needed to remove Mcafee
Posted by: Roscoe - 24-12-2022, 10:25 AM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (6)

Mcaffe is just a damn nuisance. It keeps popping up and telling me that I need to activate it but I don't want to. So I downloaded the Mcaffe removal tool but it just does not work.

I have gone to Settings and looked at the list of apps to remove it but it is not listed so I am at a loss as to how to remove it.

Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

Roscoe.

  GPS tracker sim discussion
Posted by: Excalibur - 24-12-2022, 09:59 AM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (4)

I see the old Pressf1 site finally shut down. Learnt a lot there, great discussions and info freely shared. Respect to all. Anyway I'll get the ball rolling here with a query...

So I have a 4G TK319 tracker which uses CAT M1/LTE-M. Where can I get a suitable sim without having to jump through hoops. Spark have the tech but looks like you have to be a business to get a sim.
Started looking at M2Mone but the process frustrated.
Some offshore base companies look promising, especially 1NCE.com but they require customers to be a business. 10 EU for 10 years, now that's making it simple.
Things Mobile is another offshore company with reasonable offering but reviews don't talk highly.

Anyone been through this CAT M1 tracker sim puzzle here in NZ? What can anyone recommend? Tips, pointers please? I can't be the only one wanting a tracker using CAT M1??
Hoping to learn... thanks.
