Excellent piece on the Hollywood diversity crisis.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/ce...you-fix-it
ÔÇ£All of us wanna be working and not having to come and do f...ing panels and speeches in the middle of our day,ÔÇØ Waititi said during his address. ÔÇ£This is a great thing. ItÔÇÖs good that weÔÇÖre talking about it. We have to keep talking about it but this is the s... youÔÇÖve got us doing.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£You wonder why there is no indigenous stuff out there - this is the s... youÔÇÖve got us doing. Making us come and talk about the problem and tell you how to fix it. You f...ing broke it - you fix it.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£ItÔÇÖs like someone coming into your house, stealing all of your s... and burning your house down and then saying ÔÇÿOK, we need to have a talk about this.ÔÇÖ And then, saying ÔÇÿnow, youÔÇÖre gonna rebuild your house and what can we give you to help you rebuild your house that we burnt down.
He praised his mentor, Merata Mita, for shaping his filmmaking experiences.
ÔÇ£Instead of diversification of the screen, the thing that I really want to see and what I really strive and hope for is a term coined by my mentor Merata Mita, who was the first indigenous and female filmmaker to come out of New Zealand.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£She is the one who started it all and the term she loved to use was decolonising the screen.ÔÇØ

Waititi concluded his address by asking Hollywood to stop demanding that people of colour and indigenous communities fix the diversity issue.
ÔÇ£Stop asking us what to do, how to fix things, alright? IÔÇÖm so tired of this, the diversity, inclusivity conversation, all the conversations,ÔÇØ he said.

So weÔÇÖll stumble, we should stumble together ÔÇô you guys do most of the stumbling. We will get there but just donÔÇÖt expect it to be fixed just like that.ÔÇØ

Caution: Potentially Misleading or Disinformation

No wonder covid was brewed in a lab in an attempt to cull off humans.
The sad fact is there are too many of us on this planet, but its a cruel and brutal way to do so, better to let nature take its course rather than interfere.
The vaccine is the second attempt to control human population, is just a waiting game to see how successful that was.

According to these headlines we are already past the point of no return. so why even bother trying to control greenhouse gases? A population decline seems to be the suggested solution.
Nothing that a good old fashioned war can't solve right?

This really is ugly. Homophobia is one thing but to knowingly influence another country's affairs to the extent where people will die is another thing entirely. There seems no limit to both their ignorance & their hatred & is perhaps an indicator of where some of the less educated areas of America are headed.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/d...omosexuals
"Learned behaviour can be unlearned," said David Bahati. "You can't tell me that people are born gays. It is foreign influence that is at work."
Bahati has just presented his anti-homosexuality bill 2009 to Uganda's parliament. The bill, which will be debated within a fortnight and is expected to become law by February, will allow homosexuality to be punishable by death.
"Most people have misunderstood the bill," Bahati told the Observer. "The section of the death penalty relates to defilement by an adult who is homosexual and this is consistent
with the law on defilement which was passed in 2007. The whole intention is to prevent the recruitment of under-age children, which is going on in single-sex schools. We must stop the recruitment and secure the future of our children."
There is wide support for Bahati's law which, while being an extreme piece of anti-gay legislation, is not unique. As far as gay rights are concerned, it would appear that much of Africa is going backwards. Nigeria has a similar bill waiting to reach its statute books and already allows the death penalty for homosexuality in northern states, as does Sudan."

"What personal philosophy inspires you to defend LGBTIQ rights in the midst of all this hysteria ÔÇô not just today, but also in 2014 when you helped kill a very similar anti-gay bill? And where would you say you fall politically: liberal, centrist or conservative?
I am a liberal, perhaps a radical liberal. I believe that you cannot claim to be a human being, if you do not respect human rights. And this imposes on you an obligation to promote and protect the rights of other human beings.
Nelson Mandela held the view that love is inherent and inborn. Hate, on the other hand, is taught, acquired. I think we are all born good human beings and we're all born to love ÔÇô to love ourselves, to love other human beings, to love our neighbours, regardless of colour, regardless of sexual orientation, regardless of stature.
I know that's a bit of an idealistic position. We live in a world where hate is constantly preached, and where we all have markers and identifiers. My first marker is probably my clan and tribe, then religion, then you introduce complications such as my sexual orientation and the last thing that comes to mind is the lowest common denominator, which is just love."

I have Windows Office 2007 installed on an earlier and now defunct PC. As time went on, I installed 2007 on other PCs and stupidly did not keep a note of them. I did load a copy of Office 2019 on my present PC. I have built another PC and want to add Office to it. I am now informed that I have exceeded the number of devices that the 2007 will allow.
My query is, how can I find out what devices have had Office attached to them so I can eliminate them and transfer the Office program accordingly? I assume Microsoft have something on their servers but how do I get the answers?

Have changed our internet provider as we need internet on the road when travelling in our caravan.
The Huawei B818-263 modem supplied which we have to use to get the service we need doesn't support print server like our old 2 degrees one did. So when at home we cannot connect the printer for all devices any more.
What would be a budget device we can attach to the modem to get this back? Our printer does not support wireless printing its too old but works fine so not changing it. I'm guessing we need to bridge something to the modem but have no idea what. Budget is tight for this. Thanks

Although to be fair, the media are also gleefully making the most of remarks which can be taken to mean different things - but that said, politicians really should be more careful in what they say.
This does smack of the ' those stupid women can't bring up kids & need a man's help to do it' which is so beloved of the far right. And coming on top of remarks that National will require women to pay the prescription fee  for contraception, is somewhat unfortunate.
https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/...5310&ei=10
"During the debate, O'Connor said it was his personal view that it was the responsibility of parents to "look after their own children" and the State should "by and large" stay out of it. He said there are some "pragmatic and right reasons" for the State to assist.
"It is the responsibility of the mother and the father - and I'm being very deliberate with my language there: the mother and the father - to raise the child," O'Connor said.
It was this comment that caused dismay online.
Labour MP Marja Lubeck tweeted the statement on Tuesday night, leading to some to suggest the comments were homophobic for stressing "mother and father". Labour minister Kiri Allan on Wednesday shared a video of O'Connor making his remarks with the hashtag "#NoHomo".
But O'Connor told Newshub he wasn't saying same-sex parents shouldn't raise children and acknowledged there is a range of family structures.
He said an overwhelming number of people paying child support are fathers, so was focusing his words towards them.
"Simply that the fathers need to continue their obligations and be part of raising their children."
