Uh huh, but are they any more 'greedy' that the fair few who have no need of those super payments but nevertheless sign up soon as to get their hands on them?

I wish this particular benefit was better targetted. So those with genuine need could access it earlier, and those with absolutely no need weren't eligible at all...

so people who have worked hard all their lives, paid lots of tax, contributing to other peoples superannuation shouldnt be allowed to receive  it themselves?

how about people who have spent their lives not working lying in bed all day collecting the dole i suppose in your world they should get extra?

Firstly tax is not a savings scheme to be drawn down on after retirement. It is a contribution to the economic functioning of the country, which includes welfare for those that are in need of it for a variety of reasons including in their retirement.

Your second point seems close to conflating racial groups with 'dole bludging'. At best that is generalising, or at worse it is racism. So where are you basing your accusation?

Super is not a pension. We do not pay into it. We pay taxes that are broadly assigned. Super is a benefit, just like the dole. Superannuitants are beneficiaries, and this one is extremely grateful for that privilege.

Btw. lots of people pay lots of tax over the years, and never get to receive super.  You think they should get a refund?

I have come to the conclusion that I seriously do not want to be rich.  It doesn't seem to do most people much good...

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Rich people cost the rest of us, and the planet way too much. It is obesity on a terminal scale.

true - it doesn't seem to do anything for those who are wealthy, either.

With a few exceptions of course like, that football chap from an African country, who instead of buying ridiculously expensive cars, instead set up things  such as schools & hospitals in his village.

Yes, but their leadership could've done that. If they chose to.

And that is the heart of the problem - idiot leaders who generally lack empathy.

I think that having too much money is as bad for we humans as is having too little - just in different ways.
