Sensible woman. Now she can find a toy boy worthy of her.

But I thought her wedding was going to go ahead without restrictions with a performance from that Covid-carrying DJ?

we'll soon find out whiney, i think the idea is to give it a crack.
i dont think we are as worried about the death toll with omicron
but the pressure it is going to place on our health system.

Exactly. Loose cannons and all that stuff.

Way too much risk. Best stay as they are. Till he is better trained.

It reinforces social distancing and reminds us all about the importance of those measures in place to minimise spread. The ones way too many of us seem eager to forget, or get lax about.

In this little village our visitors are rarely masked. They never scan - mind you the QR code is almost impossible to locate. And if any of us inmates try to insist on these things we get ignored. Or scowled at.
And the really stupid thing is we are the vulnerable ones, not our visitors.
Still, it does show us exactly how important we are.

Not.

Personally I feel we should still be worried about the death toll - even though the percentage of deaths is much lower, the number of infections is so much higher.  Doing the math, we could easily have far more deaths than we have in previous peaks if the number of cases gets high enough...

and then as you say, the pressure it is going to place on our health system

The main impact on the heath systems appear to be less about hospitalizations and more about staff being off sick.  Now we have the ridiculous situation where household contact of someone who is positive may have to self isolate for almost a month.   All that will lead to is people just not getting tested or not advising they are positive.

BTW I am not Winston Peter's- ohhhh you were trying to say whiny.  What an egg.

and dying in their homes all alone, leaving a rotting corpse for weeks, because they were too stupid to do the right thing.
