| Controlling what beneficiaries can buy |

The usual beneficiary bashing from this govt, the latest move to control what poor people on benefits can buy - the govt attitude appears to be that 'these people cannot be permitted a minute's enjoyment & must not be allowed to spend on things considered unwise by govt.'
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/top/524919/wa...eficiaries
But it is an interesting idea...& if used for anothert group, could genuinely make some helpful difference.
 Just not to beneficiaries.
Suppose we were to apply this idea to say, politicians.
Suppose we the voters were able to control their spending...no more fancy hotels when travelling, a more modest one will do, or even a hostel ( though that could perhaps be unfair. To other guests) & of course, unless they're entertaining a guest as part of their duties, no need for fancy restaurants either.
And for those not living in Welly, no doubt a modest Kainga Ora flat can be kept for their use while in parliament. And too, we could trim or do away with, those lifelong perks they get on retirement.
There must be all sorts of things politicians get that we could cut back on...

I bank with ASB. Before 8am I cannot log into my bank because of an infernal game of select the squares with bikes, buses, traffic lights etc. reCAPTCHA is tied up with Google's security system and I wonder if it can be turned off in my PC. Otherwise, is it a security program that ASB turn on when out of hours?

| Whats the point of a driver rollback when windows just reverts automatically? |

Got a computer here using an ASUS wifi adapter with an intel chipset, and last week I ran a windows update then next thing the wifi would not detect any wireless networks, rolled back the driver and all was good again, give it 24 hours and it automatically went back to the "newer" driver, so next thing i tried was removing the device from device manager and removed all traces of the drivers installed, downloaded and installed the latest version and once again was working again. Now this morning windows has taken it upon itself to just go back to the faulty driver, ironically the version I downloaded from intel was still far newer than what driver windows was automatically downloading.
Never had to do this before, but this group policy hack may be the solution.
You would think that telling windows to rollback should be enough to send the message that the newer version was causing issues.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5E tablet that needs a new battery.
Any recommendations on where to get this done in NZ.
I am weighing up weather to do this or get a new tablet.
