Home owners shouldn't expect buy outs in future
Posted by: Lilith7 - 09-07-2025, 12:10 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (7)

According to 'experts', home owners shouldn't get buyouts due to climate change. So those whose homes are  flooded out or damaged by weather events shouldn't expect help in future.

The group says individuals should be responsible for knowing the risks, & suggested a transition period of 20 years.

And there's been 'a significant rise' in home insurance. That may mean that in future, most may be unable to afford home insurance.

David Seymour's hypocrisy over drugs & poverty
Posted by: Lilith7 - 07-07-2025, 03:46 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (11)

David Seymour wants more spending on pharmaceuticals like Wegovy because of the benefits to society, but isn't so keen on other forms of spending.

Like child poverty.

Despite big welfare funding increases showing that it leads to a noticeable drop in kids going hungry.

The America Party, but unsure if he's registered it as yet, plus he wasn't born in America & so is ineligible to run for the presidency.

Formed to 'give you back your freedom' apparently. Presumably, he doesn't do irony.. Rolleyes Big Grin

  NZ's 'invisible children'
Posted by: Lilith7 - 05-07-2025, 03:45 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (3)

The Helen Clark govt changed the laws & created this situation, supported by the National party. How the devil could they have not understood what would happen? The 2006 Citizenship amendment act changed things so that children born here no longer had automatic citizenship, so now although they can go to school here, they're unable to work or get further education.

This needs to be changed, & quickly, its deeply unfair. Dodgy
