Government warned for 3 years lending changes would create issues

Once again they ignored all the warnings (Kiwibuild anyone?) But proceeded to make the changes and made other changes not in the initial proposals.  Now they will investigate if banks have misinterpreted the law - no chance they just created a bad law though huh?

Guess most would remember paying or avoiding the payment of said fees in the past.

Know we got dragged into the "system" when we purchased a new T V & the retailer notified said authorities, nek minnit a bill for licence in letter box

Reason for posting just read this  Rolleyes

  Weight-Loss Thread
Posted by: jackford - 18-01-2022, 11:30 AM - Forum: Health & beauty - No Replies

Remember There were any number on the old T M boards.

One in particular cannot recall their name other than Archer ***, she would keep a chart of those who joined up.

Having been a Billy Bunter lookalike for far too long, I joined WW's in '78, lost something like 35kg.
Over time put some back on, not to where I Twas.

Anyway saw the above thread on TM joined, helped one to return to goal & maintain  said loss. So thanks to Archer ***another Tradie who joined was hound31.
Daughter [ she has my bad genes ]  has just gone Vegan of which we support her 100%, gotta say she cooked some choccy Brownies, bloody delicious Big Grin
Hoping this will also assist me in future endeavours'.
To those who struggle with weight issues "Good Luck"

Anyone have experience of pulse oximeters?

I note they are available at a wide range of prices. Are the cheap ones any good? Anyone bought one recently, and have a recommendation?

Does professional landscaping increase sale price?
Posted by: Underwhelmed - 16-01-2022, 11:49 PM - Forum: Real estate - Replies (4)

Our backyard could use some improvement - planting for privacy, removal of rotary clothesline etc. All beyond my physical ability and know-how. We are debating hiring a landscape designer or handyman.  We have a pretty good idea what we want but, yeah, we are amateurs. Does professional landscaping by itself give a good return on investment? (Ignoring kitchen, bathroom etc)

Afterlife on Netflix - anyone watching?
Posted by: Outsider - 16-01-2022, 06:06 PM - Forum: Movies & TV - Replies (4)

Series 3 started late on Friday and I've seen 3 episodes.
I've been waiting a long time for series 3 but so far am very disappointed.

As usual, I think they should have finished after series 2. So many series go on for too long and this is another.
I loved the first series and the second also had some good moments (and bad ones).
I can't get into series 3 at all - just seemed to be back to the same issues which I thought he was getting over in series 2.
And the filthy stuff I hate - why does he have to resort to that, he's a better writer than that.
Testing things out to see what he can get away with? Stupid, and doesn't move comedy on at all.

Probably will watch to the end to see how he finishes it, but thank god there will be no series 4.

  Tongan volcano eruption and tsunami

It certainly looks very life threatening and I guess people were told to get the hell out of there and I know I would, but looking on the news you see all these people going down to the waters edge with cellphones to take pictures and videos instead of high tailing it to safety .... crazy.

What would you do, would you stay and take pictures or would you try and save your life?

Iceland - all religious beliefs are mental disorders
Posted by: Lilith7 - 15-01-2022, 02:42 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (20)

How interesting it will be to see what, if anything comes of this. Found it over the way & had a look...the world is a weird place. And humans are crazy.

"*Reykyavik, Iceland ÔÇô┬áThis small island country in the North Atlantic is home to many controversies. The countryÔÇÖs parliament┬ávoted in 2017 to place mental health warnings on all Bibles. In that same year, the nation took another secular step forward┬áby banning American televangelists. Iceland is now declaring all religions to be psychological disorders."

I think we have the perfect penalty for the McBishop - send the bugger to Iceland for a year or several; no preaching permitted. Angel

  Yoghurt
Posted by: Oh_hunnihunni - 15-01-2022, 01:35 PM - Forum: Recipes - Replies (8)

I make my own yoghurt. Sort of. With a very simple electric yoghurt  maker, various methods but recently using Hansell's Greek yoghurt powder. And this past week for some reason I had more than I used, a lot more, and so decided to try to make frozen yoghurt, flavoured with a bit of lemon curd I had in the freezer. Seemed simple enough, yoghurt in the food processor, add sugar to retard freezing, blitz till sugar incorporated, add curd, pulse to combine, pour into container and freeze, occasionally stirring to bring frozen edges into the mix and add more air.

My big mistake was tasting it. I may have created my new addiction. Big Grin
