  Chrome warns connection not private.
Posted by: nzoomed - 25-08-2022, 03:55 PM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (13)

Here's something I've never encountered before.
Fresh install of windows on a new SSD and chrome is warning me of every page being unsecure.
Usually I only see this if the clock is out.
Firefox is behaving fine, but I can't help but think it's hardware related in some way.
Have reset the BIOS, might see if there is an update available.

Question What is a woman?

Great documentary that everybody needs to see.
Ive got good friends in the LGBT community who are sick of the way things are going.
Its sad we even need to make a documentary on this subject.

  Parliamentary protest

Live stream from the herald is here

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/parliament...4GVU3GFDU/

I think my biggest annoyance with the Bish is how he has convinced himself he speaks for all New Zealanders, and often refers to representing or protesting for the benefit of, all New Zealanders.  Reality is he maybe represents a few thousand seemingly disenfranchised 'New Zealanders' and that's about it...

  State of our roads.

An interesting article on the state of our roads. The comparison to Japan is good - the amount of tax payers to fund roads on almost the same land area...we are on the back foot from the start. And we have sealed too many roads, they are more expensive to maintain.

  HamiltonÔÇÖs emergency housing network.
Posted by: Oldfellah - 20-08-2022, 03:04 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (17)

https://tinyurl.com/2fkcbcsc

ItÔÇÖs not dark on Ulster St, itÔÇÖs red and blue.

A constant stream of lights and sirens snake down the road, where emergency housing motels line both sides.
The Government paid $350 a night for the motel room, featuring mould, the smell of sewage, a smoking heat pump, and exposed bed springs.
Meanwhile, Waikato motels earned more than $100 million from the Government during the Covid-19 pandemic as the country grapples with a housing crisis and the soaring cost of living.

Figures show the Anglesea Motel and Conference Centre ÔÇô the top earner in the region and second place nationally ÔÇô was paid $11.7m to house 408 people over two years.

Where did these ferals use to live before this woke government decided to put them up in Motels? Because wherever that was they can go back again. The local supermarket I go to is opposite one of these Motels and from the carpark you can hear the foul language, shouting and screaming. This is just not good enough, Ms Ardern put them up in a Motel in your area and see what happens.

  Extra Signage?
Posted by: Magenta69 - 19-08-2022, 05:27 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (1)

This was tragic, but why do people climb over fences, ignore signage and take such risks to get their photos. Will more signage really stop them?

  NZ needs a new direction...
Posted by: C_T_Russell - 18-08-2022, 01:39 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (20)

Labour and National have both failed us.
Seems the public is too dumb to remember each parties mistakes and we just flip-flop between red and blue and its got us nowhere.

Matt King from the National party has created his own party called Democracy NZ, i think his goal is to address the root of the problems we faced in the wake of the COVID pandemic and intends to write the bill of rights into law.
I think everyone here can agree thats a good thing.
