How has Iran managed to pierce through IsraelÔÇÖs air defence systems?

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/18...ce-systems

A good run down of the latest war defenses and ways to get around them, well worth reading to gain understanding of what Israel is facing.

David's Sling is a great name.

Trump orders increase in migrant deportations
Posted by: Lilith7 - 20-06-2025, 03:50 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (2)

The idiotTrump called for federal agencies to 'do all in their power to deliver the single largest  deportation programme in history' & named New York, Chicago & Los Angeles as specific targets.
Almost certainly due to those cities having had massive protests against the deportations. The man's a monster. Dodgy

"Experiencing interruptions?"

I get this pop up randomly when loading Youtube vids;  it appears for a few seconds with black screen spinning, then goes off and the vid starts ...

Anyone else getting this?

Probably it has something to  do  with ad blocks extensions.

Using Firefox with Ublock Origin. I tried to update my Ublock Origin but the update button is greyed, can't update.

Submissions on this Bill will close on Monday. Matariki is a perfect day to make a submission, even a brief one, if you have opinions about it and its intent.

Submissions can be made very easily - I have just done mine - by following the trail provided here on  honourthetreaty.org.nz

Well there's always a few jealous souls...

Private hospitals using publicly funded cancer drugs will widen inequities
Posted by: Lilith7 - 19-06-2025, 04:05 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (6)

Another move towards privatising health.
"Transitional access' comes into effect on July 1st & will mean that private patients already receiving treatment , or about to start it, with a newly funded medicine won't have to move to publicly funded  for 12 months.
The association of salaried medical specialists which represents 6,500 senior hospitals & dentists said its members working in oncology & haemotology had 'significant concenrs' that this would widen inequities for patients.'

Hegseth Getting It In The Neck, Twice

Duckworth to Hegseth: "You are blowing through money like my fellow cadets and I did in our first liberty after basic camp. Luckily I didn't end up with a questionable tattoo ... you're just an unqualified yes man who can't tell the president how to keep Americans safe."

Hegseth Testimony: Have you given the order that the military can use lethal force against civilians?

This is the guy appointed by Trump who is in charge of the American Armed Forces and he's running the Pentagon if you please, look at his conduct to women throughout his life.

Good grief. The way those girls were treated was shameful.

An enquiry into the Mother & baby homes in Ireland found that  about 9,000 babies died, mainly from resoiratory problems & stomach flu.

  France v Temu et al
Posted by: Oh_hunnihunni - 18-06-2025, 06:58 AM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - No Replies

France is putting taxes on environmentally damaging products coming from the big Chinese sellers of fast fashion like Shein and Temu, and banning their advertisements including mention by social media influencers...

About time? Or is that a bad thing?

  MPs caught swearing...
Posted by: Lilith7 - 17-06-2025, 04:42 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (9)

Nooo, surely not!

MPs were caught swearing as David Seymour faces questions on regulatory reviews. He denied that the reviews were for anyone's benefit.

Of course he did... Dodgy

Seymour claims to have been 'astonished' by the swearing "clearly they're very angry about something"

Really, how very surprising. Dodgy Angry

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/564...ry-reviews

Apparently they object to devious underhanded tactics which are very strongly far right libertarianism. Angry Dodgy
