Kicking off the computing section. Definitely a step up from the TM message boards.

I vote we get some stickies going at some point, such as what sort of information to include when asking for help, and that kinda thing.

Sounds good, i want some community input on rules etc as well, what we will and wont allow on here, etc.
I like the rating system too and I need to see if the system is automated to either ban users with a certain negative rating from posting, etc.
Im still in the process of adding categories, but i need to get outside and get some fresh air.
Ive been entering lines of commands all weekend lol
at least ive gained some linux experience, I have not done anything this significant before, but feel some sense of accomplishment lol.
I thought I need to get this underway as we only have 10 days left before the TM ones close down for good.

I reckon the Trademe MB rules cover most things: https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/arti...0007001492

Could always take some inspiration from there.

I notice that this is an insecure website (http rather than https). Is this on the to-do list and therefore likely to change?

Good observation.. I'll check with nzoomed. In the mean time just use a throwaway password that you don't use anywhere else.

I just had a guy come in to work, he saves EVERYTHING to his desktop, that much so, that icons are covering icons.. Came in as he couldn't save a xero invoice copy as his desktop is unreachable haha, showed him how to do "save as" and sent him off to clear off his desktop.. approx. a year ago I had made folders in C:\ for him with shortcuts to his desktop, they are still there empty. this guy needs some help.
