I've been thinking about Jan's earlier post about the shop lifters at her son's supermarket.  That's a horrific amount of people caught, and a horrific amount of goods stolen (the cost which we all pay eventually one way or another.) It's a shame those kids never took the job offers; it could have been the start of something positive for them.  I wonder if it's the 'thrill' of not being caught as much as anything and that 'you can't touch me' attitude.

Yesterday I set my embroidery frame up ready for stitching.  Big Grin  It takes around two hours to do so I needed some 'me time' to do it.  Now to decide what to embroider.

Happy crafting Smile

I agree re the shop lifters. They dont have any fear of being caught. No consequences for their actions.

I remember years ago a teenage guy grabbed a drink and took off from our Dairy, My brother took chase, and got him. Just as the bottle dropped on the ground and burst covering them both. lol

The worst thought is these are breeding the next generations.

Good morning.

The rain is pouring out of the sky here.  How awful to be flooded out of your home as so many are down south  Sad

The large butterfly on the finished tote bag makes you realise how much work went into it KM! Awesome result with the other side as well Heart

Definitely an inside day, though I hope there is at least a short break soon for a doggy wee walk!

I pity any shop owner dealing with shoplifters nowadays, so many of them are violent along with their brazenness. And then there are those too young to be dealt with adequately.

Glad the scooter good to go OHH. Happy

Enjoy the day and stay dry all.

Just love your work Kiwimaid that bag is so beautiful on both sides.

Damp today but not too cold I have to be out soon so am tossing up whether to walk or not I need the exercise so I guess IÔÇÖll wrap up well and hope it doesnÔÇÖt start pouring down lol.

OHH - enjoy your gadding about when you finally get out

Gorgeous buttervlies, quite lifts a humble tote into something really special.

Yes, confronting people is dangerous sometimes, as my favourite librarian said about her barefaced patrons. People appear so entitled these days, no sense of social duty. And if all these idiots cters get onto our councils it can only get worse. Those outfits are bad enough without imported nutters with their weird ideas further gumming up the works...

Gods, I sound like my grandmother, lol!

Its horrible here... Glad Im home

Dr has given me a night time pain relief, so I will sleep properly..

I do Love his scales Better.. 41 kilos off Yayayayayay. I told him if I didn't have the pain I would be dangerous. He laughed lol.. He's also testing for other things which could mean a fibromyalgia diagnosis.. Ill just be pleased to wake up without pain for a change.

Sister friend just popped in to drop off a dress Im adjusting the bust line on.. Its beautiful. and its also a secret lol.

MrP is busy listening to a different group of people singing, too busy to chat lol.. Love it.. Will ring him after the plumber has been so I can tell him about it.

Friend in Taranaki just rang she is driving straight up today, so I told her to take it very easy on the roads. She tends to have a heavy foot.

I find Im starting to get really peeved off seeing people in shops etc without their masks. They obviously dont give a hoot about themselves let alone anyone else. Selfish Critters.

Beautiful butterflies, KM - they're just gorgeous.

Miserable & raining here today so made gingerbread, which I've not made for years, & had forgotten it wasn't altogether straightforward but a bit more fiddly than I'd remembered. But it turned out OK, if slightly too browned on top so will slice it later & freeze some as its handy sometimes - goes well with things like stewed apple or lemon curd spread.

Ohhhh yum.

Still, I can't complain. Had my Wednesday ladies arrive today one at a time, each bearing treats. So I got to eat wickednesses and have a good gossip session. It is lovely when a group of friends fit together like puzzle pieces, each supporting one side of another. I am very blessed with my 'ladies'.

Our lemon tree has carpeted the grass with yellow fruit, I shall have to venture out to collect them, and if nothing else juice them for summer. This time though I shall take my trusty barbecue tongs, and with luck that will save me falling on my face! Very wet and windy out there, but not as wild as further south. Yet.

Another day of hibernation on the cards, I might get my book finished...

Good morning.

Very mild and what do you know,  it's starting to rain again.

OHH I keep a bag of whole, clean lemons in the freezer for when I need one. Zest while frozen and/or microwave until soft for the juice. But of course, juicing them rather than waste will be perfect.

Soup bubbling on the stove and it's looking like another day inside.  The knitted blanket is growing! I should venture out for some preferred library book reading rather than from my father's old stash!

Enjoy your day all.

That is a good idea Roma. If I score any perfect small ones I might just do that, for the skin alone, if nothing else!

Morning everyone

A little of everything here.

The plumber came and put a new handle on.. A simple fix.

And my friend arrived while he was here. Its been great catching up and yakking.. Even Missy has been hanging around, normally she doesn't when people are here.

Went to go up and get tea and her car is stuck in the very wet dirt. we will ring AA shortly. Thank goodness she has that . Cos neither of our cars have a tow bar, and anyone I know work.

We are off to see MrP this afternoon . He hasn't seen my friend for many years as he was in hospital when she was here last year.

You should see the huge roast of lamb she brought up. Home grown and a healthy layer of fat on it.. Its not going to fit in my crockpot tho. So will have use the glass cooker or big oven. Ill have to dig out an oven dish tho lol.

Right better get this call made...

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies Smile The day seems to be calming down after all that wind and rain.

Thank you for your kind comments about my bag Smile

What a day yesterday. Went to go out and found I had left the lights on the car so one very flat battery. Took a few hours to get that sorted and then a rough trip over the Kaimais. Just as well we were late leaving as there had been a big slip with a tree blocking both sides of the road so we would have been held up anyway. We spotted five cars with flat tyres, two breakdowns and one accident. Those damed potholes are a menace.

Busy day today trying to get washing dry. I've given up and am using the drier. Just as well I have budgeted extra for power this month.

That's a very good idea about the lemons, roma. I never thought of doing that.

Dull and overcast but no actual rain- have put out washing but not much drying out there.

DonÔÇÖt know why but there seems to be more potholes on the roads than there used to be, I think the heavy trucks are not helping, there are so many these days.

Niece has finally got back to Hawaii but after all the re-ticketing issues she got to the airport and the flight to Auckland was cancelled as Auckland airport had a power failure. The best the counter people could say was ÔÇ£you better start driving!ÔÇØ It would have been a very rushed trip and then we found that the Napier-Taupo road was closed anyway with a truck crash. They finally rebooked her on the 6pm flight which actually left at 7pm so gave her just enough time to connect with her international flight.

Been picking up stitches around the second armhole of a menÔÇÖs vest - it took me 3 goes to get the number of stitches to match the other side. So frustrating.

Having ventured out on the Great Lemon Hunt, I am staying inside, it is not nice out there. But it is the perfect excuse to strip the bed, I can take all day to do it with no pressing competing tasks to get done. One of my neighbours told me recently I should get home help, but really, isn't part of being independent doing what we can for as long as we can? Being staunchly self sufficient is part of my self esteem, I'm not opposed to getting help, I just like doing things for myself...

So long as I don't fall over in the process!

It is; no one wants to accept home help until they really have to. Although - I had a sudden rush of blood to the head earlier & attacked the kitchen windowsills, & found a bloody great big cobweb I hadn't noticed was there! Oops.   Rolleyes

It was going to be lovely & warm (18 they said) here today, with actual sun promised as well. Yeah, not so much. No sign of the alleged sun & it isn't what I'd call warm, so no gardening after all.

Id like tomorrow to be fine please. We are shopping lol

AA finally turned up and dragged my friends care out.. Thank god she belongs to it.

She has said if she comes up again she wont visit MrP. she got a shock when we arrived, its 14 years since she saw him and he has changed a lot since then. Such as he has stopped and does nothing.
