yes it is the 1882 exhibition medal in silver. I did recognise it, but they usually don't sell for anywhere near that (you can usually divide Tony's prices by 2 to get market value!). Also a couple of nice Milner Thompson tokens, the second one not so common. I just thought I might get a bargain, it being an auction and that the only NZ lot that I noticed. But obviously there were at least 2 wealthy morons who also noticed it (yes I think I might be a bit bitter!). I'll probably get outbid on the Una too!

It's got that matte look to it, though I don't like what looks like a bag mark behind the king's eye, and some weakness/wear to the rim+rim beads just in front of the king's robe and at round 6:00 on the ref.
