You can never have enough...
Morning all
Windy and heavy rain expected this afternoon.

Cute pin cushion KM

My new sewing table arrived yesterday still to pay for it. Ordered in back in  November and it took 6weeks on a ship from Hong Kong Needed DS & DSIL to move it into the house 76 kg it come assembled. So will unpack this afternoon and re jig the sewing cave Happy camper here Big Grin Cool
The feline might be miffed causexI will need 10cm of her space.

The k9 garden inspection is always fun when DH is in the garden one of the favoured observation spots is a big tree stump In the middle of garden which is on a sheepish slope. Like they are supervising the activities once ball throwing is over...
We have alot of gekos here another reason I an glad our feline doesn't go out much preferring to be in her enclosure from which she is free to come and go so not exactly contained.

Volunteer morning  so must get myself organised.

Have a good day

I wish it had been a gecko, but I suspect it is just a boring old Ozzie lizard. Don't think it was a cat find either, because it still had its tail, probably just a youngster disturbed by my ransacking the front garden and upending all the leaf litter in the process. The dreaded thunbergia is out though, two big roots, so no wonder it was monstering plants all the way along. Now I can rehome some of the cuttings waiting patiently for permanent places.

Came past the hardware store yesterday and was tempted in by half price punnets of cyclamen, so have two more packs of four to find homes for. I'm thinking a big pot by the front door might be fun, especially if I can mix them up with a few nice winter annuals. For perfume maybe, or just more colour. Being baby plants they may need a bit of support to flower well.

Thank you for your kind comments about the pin cushion.

Just squeaked the lawn mowing in. Put the mower and bin away, closed up the garage, kicked off my boots and took gloves off, flicked on the kettle and it bucketed down. So I'm also a happy camper Big Grin

omg mica, your sewing table sounds awesome! I am envious of anyone who has a room for their sewing. Smile

OH that knitting made me smile thank you cause I am very, very sad.

I have moved furniture, vacuumed fluff in my sewing cave then went to unpack my sewing table and it is badly damaged/broken Sad
So now I have to go back down and put everything back how it was

Oh NO! How very sad. There may be nothing worse for a day than getting a much looked for package and finding it destroyed...

I had a visitor who brought me a pot of blue hyacinths in full and very perfumed growth. The very opposite of your experience Mica. I recommend them as a gorgeous treat for all the senses. You sure have earned a treat...

It's bucketing down here as well. Visiting dog waiting at the window (can see down the driveway) for mum to appear  Smile Luckily she's only minutes away!

Oh heck Mica, what a huge disappointment  Sad  We have just received chairs after 6 months waiting (already had the couch) ... it was a phew moment when I saw they matched,  let alone all intact!

Lucky to have got those lawns done KM. Now they will grow twice as fast after the rain  Big Grin

Haha, OHH that crown would take some beating in terms of originality ... great replica!

Gorgeous knitting from that mystery knitter.
That's bad luck Mica, hope it can be fixed or sorted out somehow.

Out to dinner last night for youngest grandson's 21st birthday, at a Greek restaurant here. Lovely food, but i can't help remembering earlier Greek restaurants here, the Mykonos & the, Santorini both of which had music & sometimes dancing. Really nice not having to cook. Quite a lot of us, about 18 - 20 people which meant both ends of table were too far apart for talking between ends but we managed.
I'd promised third eldest granddaughter some falafels I had in my freezer which I didn't like ( some idiot had added chilli!) so when they brought me home afterwards, I rushed in to grab them & took them out to her.
Oh dear - the dog cried, she must have thought I was off out again! She's never done that before so had to calm her down & let her know I was definitely home for the night.

One more birthday this month, youngest granddaughter on the 31st so will get her presents wrapped & ready to post.

morning ladies Smile It's cold this morning! And the house feels damp after two weeks of rain and no heat pump on. So I've turned the heat pump on for now.

ohhhhh mica! I can imagine you are heart broken over the table. All that waiting and this happens. How disappointing for you. I would be in tears.

My little teeny tiny clematis has it's fourth leaf developing, I think it might be time to start feeding it some liquid fert soon as it's still in seed mix.

We watched the budget yesterday, was an interesting mix that's for sure. I feel for Grant Robertson, everyone wanting more, more, more. It's never enough for the different departments. As we all know, the $$$ only goes so far and that includes government money. I am really happy though that the decile numbering systems of schools is going. I was telling MrK lower decile schools can out perform higher decile schools but parents use the higher decile number as a sign the school is performing well. Five minutes later Chris Hipkins appears on the telly and says the same thing lol.

Housework for me today, am hoping I can hang washing out. Although, I must admit using the drier over the last couple of days has been very easy and convenient. We don't have a shed or car port to put washing out when raining and I've decided I am over having washing hanging inside on the airer wet. Thank goodness there is only the two of us though.

I'm starting to sew/embroider Christmas presents and have my first gift laced onto the embroidery stand good to go. My sister-in-law has asked for an embroidered tote bag so she will be first up.

happy crafting Smile

Thunder and lightening storm  woke up to boy k9 doing his stressed panting at 5.30 10 min later heard the booms seems storm was travelling toward us.. DD k9 just shakes so early start for us.

Got my sewing cave back to working configuration, sent photos of damage to table that we can see thru carton tears poss worse damage further in. I would say it has been dropped the polystyrene is all broken as well. Lets hope its not another 7 month wait. This lots that came in were all preordered.

Finished knitting DGD vest last night, practiced French knos and played with embroidering dog noses. DD has given me her applique blocks that have dogs on so I will get those started tonight.. not sure how I will do eyebrows yet.

KM Glad your seedlings are progressing they will be established plants next spring.

Off to city this morning have errands and haircut of course it is raining and windy so my hair will look like I have been dragged through a bush backwards by the time I get home Rolleyes
Got to look at watches my ecodrive watch is stopping overnight it has served me well 20 years old so time for new one hopefully its not too hard a hunt.

Have a good day

Good morning.

It does feel fresh and cool after the rain, temperature will be lower today with maybe some more showers.

I should take your lead KM and start on some Xmas craft .... now! I'd started on some wee amigurumi animals, have done a tuatara and a frog, should continue!

A catch up day today including a walk.  I had the tv on during the budget, mostly went in one ear, out the other! Will read the key points in the paper later.

Have a good day all.

Morning everyone

Cooler here and windy.

Ohh Mica how disappointing for you. I hope they replace it for you. And that it doesnt take as long..

Kiwimade maybe you need to tie a tarp on the clothesline, if you have a rotary one of course.

I had to give in and ask winz for a clothing grant, my clothes are hanging on me and its not a good look to be hitching knickers, even tho I have taken the side seams in lol.
So yesterday I felt like a queen wandering around the clothes and getting the best amount for my budget. So I have a lot of washing to do . I feel very spoilt and just so thankfull that I could get the help and will stay warm. I even got some tights leggings type pants that I can wear under my skirts... 2 blood thinners and winter isnt a good mix.

Off to see MrP and Bobbie. Im going to have to have a word with Bobbie. She keeps telling MrP they should leave there. So the last couple of days he has been grumpy and wanting to come home again.. I nearly hung up on him last night and if he starts again when Im there today I will leave.. he has been there a year today. Its high time he got over it and got on with it.

I feel the best I have in years and Im not going to kill myself looking after him. That sounds mean but Ive done all my body will cope with.

The Jonquils have burst the little paper wrapper so the buds are separated, but not open yet.. But it wont be long.

Have a fab day everyone

Jonquils? Oh that's a lovely thought! I am enjoying my gifted hyacinths though, they are perfuming the whole flat, and are a total delight. I shall finish the floors today, and if the weather holds off I might get those baby cyclamen sorted into a pot, but we shall see. And a packet of discarded embroidery cottons arrived yesterday, lots of reds inside, so I might just add a bit of stitchery to that second denim skirt if my stack of library books doesn't tempt me first...

holy moly that was some rain! It's finally settled and MrK has taken the Furry One for a rive into town.

Housework is done Big Grin

oohhh jonquils Heart How lovely! My mini tete-a-tete daffs are poking through too Big Grin So many signals that spring is coming and we haven't really started winter.

Lucky you with the embroidery threads OHH Smile Red on the denim will look awesome.

Freezing here, with some showers so still haven't been able to get back lawn done - no doubt it will have grown by the time I get to it.
Still trying to cull stuff from the workroom & came across work from the first graphic design course I did, back in 1998! Seems so long ago now. Did manage to chuck a few bits & pieces out but its hard going.

Farcebook just showed me something magic. I never knew the plastic Gutermann thread spools come apart if you twist the top. Apparently it is a space to store your needles. I had to try it to believe it, and yes...

Learn something new every day!

morning ladies Smile It's a lot calmer this morning but we're due more rain. So sad to hear a lady was killed by a falling tree in Cambridge. Those old oaks in Cambridge are huge. And the residents in Levin will still be cleaning up for days, even weeks. Fingers crossed they have some fine weather for that.

It's MrK's birthday today and this evening friends coming for a fish and chip birthday dinner. Add a few beers (whiskey in my case) and it should be a fun night.

lol OHH, yep, the Gutermann thread spools come apart. Could be useful for other small things too. I've thought I would have to jazz them up a bit so they don't get thrown out as empty spools.

Lilith, it's not easy getting rid of old stuff, is it. There are lots of memories tied up with 'stuff'.

The sun is out! Yesterday we had a huge rainbow over the house so maybe these are signs I can get outside shortly. Just a bit of cabin fever here lol. Buggar! And just like that the rain clouds are back.

I'll work on the first Christmas pressie this morning, at least I can make good use of the time indoors.

Happy crafting Smile

Sunny with brisk wind, cosy indoors but DH says its nippy out

House work this morning and I will finished a long line cardi toile in afternoon if it works I will cut into some velvet that was given to me a few years ago.

DH skin lump that was removed on Thursday is a melanoma with nasty grade so he will need surgery to remove some lymph nodes  it is never ending. We joked with kids with our luck they will schedule him the same day that I am having surgery next month  Tongue

The shop I bought my table through were gutted too when they received my photos. Now we see what the imported does.

Spring flowers already  does that mean we skip winter  Big Grin

Ordered thunder  vests for the boy k9s well let's say I ordered cheaper versions of said jackets to see it they work. Also got Adaptil collar for DD dog as he is a sensitive wee beast doesn't like it if we have too many people around and gets stressed so hopefully some calming pheromones help him. If you met him you would never guess he acts typical terrier.

Happy birthday MrK fish and chip Dinner sounds great.

Have an enjoyable day

My beloved peach tree is a strange one this year. I planted it quite close to the building so I could get shade on the wee deck and hopefully pick peaches from high up without a ladder. Well that works fine now it has grown, but this year half of it is exposed to weather and has now shed all its leaves and the other half is sheltered under the eaves and is against the warm brick wall, and has all the leaves still green and firmly attached.

I guess it is in two minds on climate change like many of us...

Morning everyone

The sun is out weakly... but it is cold. I have my cardy done up lol

Happy Birthday to MrK.. Now that is the best way to celebrate a birthday. Might do the same for the Two July babies. I know MrP will love it.

Speaking of which yesterday he showed me the chicken they were given on Thursday. To say that I thought it looked like pork crackle is 100% true and it "snapped" like pork crackle... Apparently they had to get a different cook in, Im wondering if the other has gone. Cos Yesterday they had fish and chips but the chips were barely cooked. And Last night they had sandwiches.. yeah 3-4 days after talking to the area manager.
And MrP didnt get his shower yesterday either. Sometimes I feel like saying refund to me the money that is paid for their food and Ill feed them myself.

Ive been out every day this week so Im having 2 days at home with my Baby girl. Ive got washing on. And Ill load the dishwasher when my bones unseize.

I learned about those cotton reels a couple of years ago and yes from FB.. Handy idea if you want to hide something, but yes you would want to make sure you didnt throw them out. Good idea for a camping kit or in the car tho.

A little skite.. I found out yesterday Im also lighter than a friend Ive had since the Mid 90s, by 12 kilos. The one that came up last year and will come up sometime this year. Ive Never been smaller than her... And when she told me yesterday, it was the first time she has ever told anyone her weight. Its encouraging me even more... Im going to try and treat myself later in the year and make a couple of summer dresses. I just need to find a nice pattern. Im lighter now than I have been for many many years... ohh I might try my wedding dress on again... Thats always a good way that makes me realise how its going. It did fit earlier in the year but it should look better still I hope.. And its a normal dress that I can wear anytime. and nearly 31 years old lol.

The seasons are crazy, with flowers really out of seasons..

I need to check in with a friend who lives in Cambridge. I really hope it wasnt her. but sad for relations and friends etc.

Have a fab day everyone
