Morning ladies.

Another Stinker today and Im not liking it one bit. Almost a 3rd through...

I turned my back to the fan last night and as I had taken half a sleeping pill I woke up very sore and I guess I have a chill in the back for my troubles. And as I was sleeping on the bad side Im just a stupid mess.

I was meant to be going up to the rest home to visit the lady across the hall from MrP. She was dumped in there with the clothes on her back. Shes such a little sweetie. But Im too doped up to drive so will ring shortly.

I have to make an appointment to talk to the manager as there are things that are well frankly dangerous happening there and they need to get it sorted.

I wont be doing much while Im in pain...

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning all. Another Christmas and Boxing Day done and dusted. Just New Year to "get through" in terms of traffic, parties, fireworks (our dog's worst nightmare) and general busy-ness everywhere.

Nice gentle rain today ... garden and lawn happy.

Good idea to go to another craft option kiwimade before going back to your tui - I'm one of those "have to finish a project first before tackling another" person, not always the best plan! You churn out a lot of sewing mica, the recipients are so lucky ... I'm in awe! Popeye, I hope you have a relaxing day to help with your pain. My elderly mum is in a rest-home 2 hours away, so I know all about the rigmarole of visiting and how awful it was during lockdown.

Time to go and get organised for visitors staying tomorrow.

Have a good day.

Good morning all going to be another hot one in the Bay - couldnÔÇÖt cope without the air conditioning but I hate having it on dries the air
Kiwimade thinking about your sty - Mum used to rub her wedding ring along our eye when we had one - what on earth could that have done I wonder
Sounds like you need a nice lazy day Popeye with Missy taking care of you - the problems and the old lady at the rest home can wait a day or two until you are road worthy
Roma like you I am in total awe of Micas sewing achievements
i sprayed my sick cucumber with baking soda last night too scared to go out and see if it survived - will be devastated if it hasnÔÇÖt - is loaded with Lebanese cucumbers my favourite
One of my sons checkout operators made him a Xmas cake - he gave me half and itÔÇÖs beautiful- I think I can taste ginger - itÔÇÖs not too heavy - it wouldnÔÇÖt be rude if I asked for the recipe - wonÔÇÖt say he gave me half will just say I had a slice which is a wee white lie but they donÔÇÖt really eat cake
Better get cracking

morning ladies Smile  We had rain last night!  After I had watered the garden lol.  It must be Murphy's Law.  I have some roses to pick this morning, Lemon and Lime is prolific and a really good 'picker' in the vase.  It can last up to 10  days.

The bin man was a tad late yesterday but I was able to squash a few more armfuls of summer prunings into the bin before he came.  Lawns are mowed too so a productive day outside while it was cool.

It's our daughter's birthday today, time is just whizzing by.  MrK and I will phone her later today when I get home from Tauranga.  My sister and I are having a day together - this could be realllly good or realllly awful lol.  We'll see how it goes.

I have some vintage lace from a pram cover Mum used for us kids that I have unpicked.  I suspect my grandmother sewed the pram cover using left over lace from a wedding dress she sewed (she was the local seamstress).  I have cut it into squares and basted it onto a lining fabric.  I plan to use it along with fabric from a vintage tablecloth Mum had to make a quilt top.  I must be nuts lol but I have this vision in my head.  It's not a hard pattern, just squares to keep it as simple as I can and so hopefully, less swearing at the sewing machine.

Edited to add, it's not rude to ask for the cake recipe Jan, I would ask for it too! Tongue

Yes Much improved this morning, thankfully.. I nodded off in my chair yesterday and woke up with Madam snoozing on me too. She knows when I'm sore or unwell lol

Yep Jan I would ask for the recipe too. I love being asked myself so Id go for it.

So many Birthdays at this time of year. Was my SIL on Christmas day, BIL on Boxing day and a friends Daughter is Friday.

I've managed to organize some clothes and toiletries for the poor lady that was "Dumped" at the rest home that MrP has befriended.. Poor thing she arrived with nothing. Ill be taking some stuff up tomorrow.

No rain here, there's a nice breeze tho which is good.

I need to find motivation. But with the S.A.D kicking in, its hard.

morning ladies Smile  It's overcast here but I would say that will burn off quite quicklythis morning.

Yesterday my sister and I spent the day in Tauranga and Papamoa shopping while her camper van had an awning fitted.   Didn't buy much but we had a good nosey around the shops which is something we don't usually have time to do.  We were home late in the afternoon so overall a good day.

Today it's back to the weeding and summer pruning and I need to take the glass recycling into the tip.  Then I should be able to do some sewing.

Morning everyone

Glad you had a nice time with your Sister Kiwimade. Id give all to have a day with mine. But I have to remind myself she's not suffering now.

Had a flat day yesterday, just dont have time to do that today.. Bloods and shopping, hoping to be home before it gets too hot.

I dont know if I mentioned all the cramp I was having. It turned out that even tho I was taking one magnesium pill a day my Magnesium was at 3,,, a normal persons level is 100.....Im never normal lol.. So my Dr told me to increase it massively and Ta-Da.. I've only had a couple of small twinges since I bumped up the dose, well from one pill to 4 and its just under what she suggested...BUT

The best thing is its doing something cos now I can sneeze without it shooting pain out from my spine... Its SUCH a relief. And as if on Cue I just sneezed twice and no pain.... A huge difference.

MrP said yesterday it had rained overnight, but there wasnt any sign of it here... Nothing during the day either.

Good morning beautiful blue sky morning here in the bay - yesterday turned into a grey drizzly day - complete opposite today
Last night I had the most fantastic surprise - was watching a documentary on NZ trucking on Neon and there was my husband in his 20s loading a truck and driving away - hit the replay button many times and called the kids and the grandkids - my father was one of the kiwis who after the war started a large trucking firm so was watching the documentary as I thought I might see some of his trucks - which I did and the documentary talks about my Dad but I didnÔÇÖt expect to see my husband loading Watties onto one of his trucks - actually it was surreal- wish he was here he would be tickled pink the grandkids could see how cool his hair was back in the day!

morning ladies Smile  Another nice cool start to the day.  Housework for me this morning and I have a daisy plant to plant as well. I spotted it at the Warehouse, they often have some nice plants there.

How exciting for you, Jan, to spot your husband in the tv series.  Is that the series they showed on Prime not long ago?  MrK loved it as he was a diesel mechanic in his day and worked on trucks and heavy machinery.  He also spotted people and trucks he knew.

I need to find a new embroidery project so will suss it out later today.  I've squared up some of the squares I had cut out for the quilt yesterday.  I really need to be more accurate in my cutting out.

Coffee is finished, time to get cracking and plant the daisy.

Good morning another beautiful morning in the Bay - not going to be too hot which is a bonus
The doco was on Neon Kiwimade - very interesting I would think even if you werenÔÇÖt interested in trucks - so many examples of the famed kiwi ingenuity making trucks to fit a specific purpose and some of the places down south especially where they drive them was mind boggling - thinking about when I saw him pop up on the screen I shouted to him really loudly - still laughing at myself ! Popeye one of my boys has recoded it on something permanent and put it in the family box of treasures
This year despite being so eventful has really flown and I think maybe next year is going to be another challenging one for the country - but I have another great grandchild on the way -unfortunately they are in Oz and we wonÔÇÖt see them for a while -I need to finish this blanket I am stalled on so I can get cracking on one for the new arrival
Hope everybody has a good day

Morning everyone

Slightly overcast today, which suits me fine lol... We really could use some rain. I noticed as I came back into town yesterday the hills are getting brown.

Wow the couriers are faster this week. My Sister in law sent up a box of clothes from Waverly, on Tuesday and its here already. Missy is doing a Cat Scan on it for me before I open it lol... She checks out every parcel that comes into the house.

My cousin in NSW rang last night, lovely having another chat.. Sooo many cases per day over there its very scary. I wouldn't be going anywhere. Bother hers and her hubbies health isn't the best so they only do what they have to, like a Drs appointment. Everything else they do from home or her girls do it for them.

Another strange year just about done in.. Complicated with MrPs stuff its not one I care to repeat thats for sure,

Lets hope things will improve for all of us.

It's getting hot outside so I've come in and put the kettle on. Daisy planted and I've finished weeding the biggest garden, split some wee plants up and replanted them, dead headed some roses and the geraniums. MrK is trimming some hedge type shrubs and mulching them for the garden. So overall, a productive start to the day. So much for housework lol. I would much rather be out in the garden.

Oh_hunnihunni, MrK planted those patio tomatoes last year and wasn't impressed with them either. He said he won't be growing them again.

We have the grand total of two beans ready to eat... one each lol.

Kettle's boiled, we've earned this cuppa!

morning ladies and Happy New Year Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Here's hoping 2022 is a vast improvement on 2021!

Another hot day here today, thank goodness my outdoor stuff is done for now. Although looking at the house, we need to do something about the spiders that have moved in.

That's good news about the cramps, popeye. A nice way to start off a new year.

Last night I saw the International Space Station zip across the sky, just love that sort of thing. If you go to spotthestation.nasa.gvt you can find out where to look and what time it will be in our skies. It will be around for a few more days.

A bit of housework to do then I think I'll chill and potter about. Might even do some sewing too.

Happy New Year <3
