There's an obvious solution.
Regardless of which party is in govt, identical lunches (as healthy as is possible) should be provided for both schools & politicians when parliament is in session. Compulsory, except on medical grounds which should be stringently checked with regard to the politicians since they have a certain reputation for underhandedness.
The prior system may not have been perfect but there were some aspects of it - local employment for example - which worked well. Perhaps we could look at what works well for other countries.
