Apparently a situation similar to what this article is claiming is currently happening in that Australia and the US rely on leasing each other's firefighting heavy equipment during fire seasons so quite a bit of LA's gear is currently in Oz, it being their off season for fires.

TVNZ tonight reported that the mayor of LA is planning on a strong and swift rebuild of the fire destroyed areas of the city but who in their right mind would rebuild in what has been referenced as a high fire risk area by insurance companies and therefore will be very expensive to insure, if insurance is even available?
