We used to say we opened the fridge in the morning to warm our hands so we could light the fire, it certain could throw a glorious frosty morning at us. But boy the roses did well...
Nothing like a Taupo frost - we were in Wakeman Road Acacia Bay and the frost was on the ground all day .DidnÔÇÖt mind the frost but didnÔÇÖt like the foggy mornings - I worked at Carters in Spa Road so used to have to cross the bridge when it was a real pea souper was frightening .If my old boy hadnÔÇÖt got sick we probably would have gone back to Taupo┬á
Dr Seuss might see the light of day later on
We used to stay there quite a bit when the kids were little. I remember 2 things vividly, son and I watching the cars sliding on the Ice on the lake corner opposite the trout statue. Then, son and I walking the Taupo to Aratiatia track on a 5 degree frosty morning.... wonderful. I loved walking so much and I miss it terribly.
