Home again, lovely to go away but also nice to get home again.
Sad for your sonÔÇÖs family, 15years is a good long life for a cat but unfortunately a short time for us people in comparison.┬á
Yesterday we went to Whiritoa as nephew has a holiday home there. ┬á16yr old great niece was on lifesaving duties, itÔÇÖs a full on day with a lot of responsibility for these young people.
14yr old was busily studying for his lifesaving exams today.  They have a lot of theory to learn from ocean conditions, to signalling and communications to a significant level of first aid. They also have 3 practical exams to test both their fitness and lifesaving abilities.
I am so proud of both of them and their colleagues, they have to do a minimum of 50hours on duty per season which is quite a bit of their holidays.  You tend to only hear of the no-hoper kids who are ram raiders etc and yet there are these young people volunteering their time and efforts to help others.
Nephew also has a young leonberger dog who is such a cuddly big bear, she is about the same height as me when IÔÇÖm sitting so you get a big doggy grin right into your face┬á
 
She can still be a bit over enthusiastic and has to be discouraged from jumping up to welcome us as she could flatten you.
