Miranda Harcourt honoured
#1
And extremely well deserved, imo. She does have the advantage of coming from a well known acting family - Kate Harcourt is her mother & most will also know of her daughter, Thomasin who's also hugely talented.
But she's done far more than perform & coach, & has also worked in prisons & with Women's Refuge.

"Everyone in her family; from the 16-year-old ÔÇô youngest daughter Davida ÔÇô to the 95-year-old ÔÇô Dame Kate ÔÇô had a strong social conscience, driven by story, she said.
ÔÇ£If you can use story as a tool to ignite an actorÔÇÖs passion for telling a story, then the performance will lift.
ÔÇ£ThatÔÇÖs where I get my joy.ÔÇØ
She also believed being made a dame was a way to raise awareness of domestic violence in the country as ambassador of WomenÔÇÖs Refuge, particularly at a time like New Year when rates of violence were high."
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
