Im quite surprised that such a left wing govt actually allowed this to even happen, usually its the opposite.
Obviously its a major issue with retailers illegally selling to minors, but thats a separate issue altogether.
Hypocrisy at its finest.
Perhaps we're in need of a new system. It seems that the same pattern repeats throughout history - the wealthy section of the community does its best to ensure that those who are poor remain so, apart from the odd token gesture. It remains difficult for those people to improve their situation under capitalism.
Once again, perhaps we could learn from Nordic countries which have a mix of capitalism & socialism which seems to work well.
