We could and do make any number of products here, but the shift has to come to rejecting cheap in favour of longevity, quality over disposable, and home made alongside technology. And it is coming. Slow food, slow fashion, the revitalisation of craft, climate change is bringing a whole new perspective to the things we think we need to live the lives we want to live.The problem is that those on low incomes here can only afford the cheap items made in other countries by people on low incomes; the system needs to change.
