The cruelty of MIQ

Yes they do indeed have some of the highest taxes - & yet, they're also the world's happiest people.
Which leads to the strong probability that removing the stress of providing medical & education needs for their families works extremely well - & since stress can affect health, its probably also a health benefit as well.

You ignore that they also have significant oil and gas reserves, are part of a massive economic block all within a few thousand KM and their major exports aren't farming products and tourism.  But hey based on what you said let's slap the top rate to 60% and we should all then be happy.

And? So they have oil & gas. And high taxes.

And they're the world's happiest people.

Clearly NZ couldn't emulate that since we don't have the same resources - but there's no reason we can't do as close as we can to their way of dealing with things such as education & health by having higher taxes.
People on the right politically are always so very quick to condemn their way of doing things, possibly terrified at the awful prospect of parting with more of their income via taxes.
