Hunni:    Don't "over water" your garden when you are short  of water.

I water deep every two hot summer days, except for the potted babies who get a daily top up. Most of my garden is created, and is still developing a good level of humus in the mix so it dries out fast despite the careful management of light and shade. I reckon another two seasons worth of mulching and compost and it will be just about right for self sufficiency, most of the year. But Auckland can be drought prone these days, just have to learn to live with it I suspect.
