morning ladies   We had rain last night!  After I had watered the garden lol.  It must be Murphy's Law.  I have some roses to pick this morning, Lemon and Lime is prolific and a really good 'picker' in the vase.  It can last up to 10  days.
The bin man was a tad late yesterday but I was able to squash a few more armfuls of summer prunings into the bin before he came.  Lawns are mowed too so a productive day outside while it was cool.
It's our daughter's birthday today, time is just whizzing by.  MrK and I will phone her later today when I get home from Tauranga.  My sister and I are having a day together - this could be realllly good or realllly awful lol.  We'll see how it goes.
I have some vintage lace from a pram cover Mum used for us kids that I have unpicked.  I suspect my grandmother sewed the pram cover using left over lace from a wedding dress she sewed (she was the local seamstress).  I have cut it into squares and basted it onto a lining fabric.  I plan to use it along with fabric from a vintage tablecloth Mum had to make a quilt top.  I must be nuts lol but I have this vision in my head.  It's not a hard pattern, just squares to keep it as simple as I can and so hopefully, less swearing at the sewing machine.
Edited to add, it's not rude to ask for the cake recipe Jan, I would ask for it too!
Happy crafting
