Surface book 3 boots into UEFI BIOS

Ever seen one boot into the BIOS and not boot into windows?
SSD appears OK, but won't boot up.
Reinstalled windows and just boots back into BIOS again.

Really weird. A quick Google search suggests it's hardware related.

Can you boot it off a USB stick?

not a surface but I had one that was set in bios to boot the actual boot drive, rather than the windows boot manager - not entirely sure if it should be able to boot from the drive itself under uefi, but when I set it to windows boot manager it was away laughing...

you could try a rebuild of the bcd as well

Yes, thats how I was able to run windows setup to begin with.
IDK if the SSD could be at fault, but it tests OK.

Interestingly enough, I can no longer boot off my USB.

I tried switching between windows boot manager and the drive itself but no luck.
I formatted the drive and reinstalled, but when it reboots after setup, it's back to square 1.

Im want to restore from a downloaded recovery image for the surface If I can get it to boot up again.

I might try resetting the BIOS again.
