You can never have enough...
morning ladies Smile There's fog, fog, and more fog here.

All these love stories we have are amazing, aren't they.

Dammm popeye, he doesn't learn, does he. Hopefully things will come right with MrP quickly.

Our daughter is home Smile What a scare that was. Before she left for home, she face timed her family and one of the cats as the cat was yowling and searching the house for her. I think it was more to shut the cat up than anything lol. So now it's a week of self isolation.

Apparently in the wee hours I told the Furry One to shut up as he was barking. I don't recall saying it and was sound asleep at the time lol. MrK told me a car had parked outside our home and of course the Furry One will bark at it. He thought I was awake but nope, out like a light.

Thanks to the cold yesterday I was able to spend a couple of hours stitching and the butterfly is progressing along. I've had a better (quicker lol) idea for the other side of the bag and will outline a bunch of small butterflies instead.

Just looking at the bird feeder and it's empty again. The birds are stuffing themselves with our offerings. But we do get a lot of joy watching them so worth the meagre effort it takes. I saw a photo of an apple in an old whisk on FB the other day. It was part of a NZ Bird page and looked awesome. Had to smile as we had only been 'chatting' about it not long ago.

The lawn needs mowing again today. What is it about the Waikato and grass growing, it never blimmen stops lol.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Was a day from hell to put it bluntly. It took 25... yes 25 phone calls to get through to him over 4 hours. They told me the wrong place he was in.
Got there in the end and I told him to turn his phone one. The ambos turned it off we think.

His Sugars went down to 1.9, they are lucky he didnt go into a coma. His bsl was 5.6 when they gave him his insulin. So they have been told not to give it to him until he has eaten. And if the GP doesnt like it tough.!!.

Needless to say I was a angry bawling mess.. I will be putting in a complaint about the hospital too. Its rediculous.

Its fine here at the mo. I have to pop up the road but I wont be going to the home. I thought about going to see Bobbie cos I know she will be worried, although I rang them last night to leave a message for her. But I dont think I can cope with her paranoia today.

Sometimes I pull the phone away from my ear so Missy can hear MrP talking to her, its funny the way she looks around for him lol.

Have a fab day everyone

I hope today is a less stressful one for you popeye.

I made my shopping list for this week and realised it was well over the two hundred mark so have decided to opt for delivery and damn the expense. Too many pantry top ups this week - though most will last at least a month, so it is probably sensible to get them to do the work. Then I can just put it away and focus on the fresh stuff when I go down on Wednesday, weather permitting.

So, to celebrate, I made a start on destashing and put a few things up on TM, and discovered - by accident - the new make an offer feature when someone thought a bargain was to be grabbed. Uh uh, I like a proper auction thank you, so fixed that slip up this morning. Be interesting to watch how things go...

I wear mine on the middle finger because I had them enlarged when my hands swelled during pregnancy and am too stingy to get them resized. I wear my Scottish grandfathers signet on my third, it winds round all the time so looks like a wedder, and I like being reminded of him. He was a lovely man.

Yeah mine turn all the time. I have MrPs wedding band on my middle finger but thats getting loose too. My hands swell in the summer so I wont get them resized even if I could afford it.

I might have to go back to gold on my left hand and silver on the right cos I have a silver with a lovely amythist that should fit again now.

Ill have fun later trying them all on again

We should wear our pretties as often as we can. I have eleven silver bracelets that I wear non stop, they have worn my wrist thin, lol. My rewards for good behaviour, I call them. Each one comes with memories and they delight me so they'll stay there for as long as I can wear them.

Then the kid gets them, to add to or pass on to her daughter as she chooses. Little things like these give colour to our everyday, so I am with you popeye, wear those sparklies with glee!

I really, really hate shopping for blokes. There are a couple more birthdays coming up; two of my lads have close together birthdays so have been trailing around the menswear shops looking at all the boring, drab men's clothing. Ridiculously overpriced too, most of it.
Tried every blasted menswear shop & then spotted Postie plus & realised that they sell men's clothes too. Thankfully managed to find a jersey claiming to be Shetland wool so that's what one of them is getting, with a few other bits & pieces, including a small painting each if I can be bothered to get more done in time.

Definitely not today, too knackered now; shopping really isn't my thing these days.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Beautiful blue sky day here in the Bay bit chilly though -
Just had notification from my Doctors surgery- both GPs have resigned from 15th July - burned out unable to guarantee patient safety - the visas of their 2 overseas practice nurses werent renewed 18 months ago and they have been unable to replace them - hours and hours of admin stuff has had to be completed for the health restructuring on top of caring for their patients - I only go for my flu shot and ring every three months for my script repeats - they were brilliant when my husband was receiving palliative care .No doctors in Napier are taking new patients so thatÔÇÖs a bit of a pickle
I couldnÔÇÖt wear my gold wedding band or engagement ring - developed an allergy to gold so had a silver ring made and put my gold rings in a box - when Robie got engaged I gave him my rings and told him to get them remodeled- all my jewellery was stolen and never recovered the following year I was thankful Robie had the rings .We all fought over Dads wedding ring - not seriously - but I think it was the only thing we had to draw out of a hat to see who won - of course the golden child my brother won - I think my Mum put his name on all the bits of paper !
Have left over Thai takeaway for tea tonight - it always tastes better the next day

Jan Central Medical in Marewa are taking new patients. You might need to hurry though as there could be quite a few people looking for a new Doctor

Ohh trust me I wear my pretties...

I hate my hands and wrists naked although I stopped wearing a watch.

Silver bangles on the right hand to try and take the yuck look from the medic alert bracelet.

I had my father wedding ring but it ended up causing more arguments than it was worth and after Mum died It was time to stop the crap.

I have the pearls my Stepfather gave my mother for their wedding 44 years ago. And I have his Mothers greenstone. I should probably have that one valued. Its very old.

I cant wear silver in my ears, only real gold or I used to get away with Avon earrings for some reason.

I still have my belly button bars, but dont have a belly button now lol. The skin wore out, and then the rest went in 2018 with my hernia and abdominoplasty.. but Im not ready to part with the bars they are pretty.

morning ladies Smile Nice and calm weather this morning but it's batten-down-the-hatches-time this afternoon.

Our GPs are certainly feeling the strain, that's for sure. We feel the 'vibe' whenever we are there and it doesn't feel like a happy place. If you want a script you email using their new website but on the upside, you can check out your own results and what not without bothering the doctor or nurse. On the downside, the doctor needs to read the e mail properly so you get the right script! (on going saga for that one).

We buried dad with his wedding ring on but our son inherited his watch. Most of Mum's jewelry along with other stuff was stolen by a family member with a P addiction. His addiction pretty much tore our family apart and we are still trying to heal many years later. I rarely wear jewelry as I get eczema and it's a pain in the butt when gardening. I do wear it when going out and about though.

There are a few things that need doing in town today and hopefully they can be done before the rain hits. I did manage to mow the lawn yesterday. The new grass is growing great guns but will need a bit more seed in the spring. My blimmen roses lol. No sooner do they go to hip they start flowering again! Over the next few fine days I'll prune them unless that damed rabbit does it for me. Spotted it yesterday chewing on 'Claude Monet' which is struggling without the help of a rabbit. The Furry One needs to get on with it and catch it. Roma, your hydrangeas are doing well in pots and I can't wait to plant them out in the spring.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning.

Looking dull outside and bracing myself for the expected rain later. Will dry the towels on a rack,  so I'm not caught out!

Busy day yesterday with the grandchildren ... thank goodness it was sunny for school drop off/pick up. I have them 7.30-5.00, one day a week.

Making good progress on baby blanket ... love doing samplers with the changing patterns.

Pleased to hear cuttings have taken KM. Will put a smile on my dial to see them growing as we pass through ... such an attractive, long lasting flowering plant Smile

Few jobs to do out plus annual screening blood tests.

Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone

Yeah I found I got eczema when I played in dirt. And I dont like wearing gloves so I would take my rings off before I played.

The home has rung. MrP is back. They got the ambo at 4-30am apparently. He told me last night they had warned him it would be early. lol. Ill ring him later. And at least he is home for his birthday.

Raining very lightly at the mo but I expect it will get worse. Im not going out in it. Madam managed to pin me to the bed and I swear I can feel every vertebrae in my spine as well as my hips and knee lol... So Ill pop some pills shortly. Ive cut them down and only use them when I cant move pretty much lol.

I dug out one of my merino jumpers this morning.. So its cold lol.. I have four layers on.

Its the same at the med centre here too Kiwimade. It isnt anything like it was before Covid. I was thinking last night Im going to write a letter and send it to my previous Dr. She is the one who put me on the new pill for my diabetes and I want to thank her cos it has changed my life. And I want to tell her how well I am doing. Im not sure if I can still email her through the Manage My health thing or not since she is in a different practice now.

Have a fab day everyone

I listed some fat quarters in my destashing efforts and am delighted with the interest. Quilting is alive and well out there! There have been some lovely quilts listed too, even a couple of antique American ones described as Amish, though I am not convinced they are. I had a long conversation with a group of elderly Amish quilters when I was in Pennsylvania years ago, and they taught me what to look for and how to I D the different quilts they make. It is a real industry over there and has been for a long time now, but there is a big difference between the pieces they make to sell to us - English as we are called - and the pieces they make for their own use. I brought two home, a tourist version with lovely patterned fabrics, and the one I sleep under, a plain sunshine and shadow one of the ladies had just finished for her own use that I fell in love with. It was a magical afternoon, and all unplanned, and all down to me being a kiwi and an 'undecorated woman' lol, meaning no make up and sensible clothes!! That trip was one of the biggest adventures I have ever given myself and such a joy to remember. But the quilts are treasures above all.

Having watched and talked with those quilt masters I knew I would never make another myself, but I kept the stash... Time to let go now I think.

Well, its been another wonderful day doing the dreaded grocery shopping, & rather than the usual three quarters of an hour, only took four hours. (I may be exaggerating slightly.)

I think I'm getting better at it; this morning it only took a mere three tries to find the orange juice I wanted. Handy hint: NOT where the other orange juice is - oh no, THAT would be far too easy, no, its at the other end of the bloody shop isn't it!
Of course it is.
Mind you, I did learn something - well, two things really. The poor staff are heartily sick of all the changes...& they know we're all swearing like troopers behind our masks!
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I got mine delivered. I bought four of everything, lol, so I am set for emergencies. And the rain is here. Me'n the cat are turning on the heater. We voted on it and it was unanimous, so budget be damned, we need to be warm.

Oh and the laundry is up todate. Dishes done. I might just pour me a wine to celebate all this unusual houseworky stuff.

Good afternoon - grey old day in the Bay today but so far the promised heavy rain hasnÔÇÖt arrived
Thank you Veronica for your tip about Central Medical seems the official Ministry site isnÔÇÖt correct there are doctors taking patients -
Lilith I am surprised you4 supermarket has the staff available to shift stock around except for the specials Robie is going to have to stop online click and collect - just canÔÇÖt get staff - starting rate is $25.74 which I think isnÔÇÖt too bad for a trolley boy - Winz sent 20 candidates on Monday - 17 made it perfectly clear they were not interested in taking a job - 3 went through the induction - none of them turned up for work -260 is fully staffed at the moment he has 39 vacancies - all the other supermarkets are the same - he is paying all the existing staff above their normal rate because it is really tough wearing a mask ,taking abuse and having to cover extra when it is necessary - if we go into code red and the butchers and greengrocers are shut down like last time I am not sure what will happen
Good news from my brother he had another scan and the cancer hasnÔÇÖt spread -
My other son went on a group outing of sawmillers to the All Blacks game - one has tested positive - he has already had it but he is not welcome here until the danger has passed - thought he was stupid going much safer to stay home and watch it - but of course he doesnÔÇÖt listen to his mother
A young kiwi entrepreneur has set up a business broadcasting all secondary school rugby games - itÔÇÖs been fantastic $3.95 a game - I have been able to watch my grandson every game - most of the games are away - I get it on my iPad but can send it to my TV so am loving it - I sent the boy an email telling him how fantastic it is - hope enough people support him
The neighbours across the way are away and by the sound of the music blaring out the kids are playing up -
