You can never have enough...
Beautiful work on the butterfly KM, it looks gorgeous.

And yes I believe I've ben forgiven due to her finding a large pile of leaves in the park this morning which she was allowed to play with.
I've managed a bit more chucking out from the workroom, not a lot but its slow going & may take months. I really hadn't any idea just how much work there is, from years & years so need to chuck out lots & try to organise the rest somehow.
So far though, its chucking out a bit & trying to sort out lots to keep. May have to do a second blitz once its finally finished.

I haven't had this reaction since when I first started taking them.  So its a bit odd. But now I can sleep it off if need be.

Ive spoken to MrP. There's trouble in paradise. Apparently Bobbie did something that upset him last night. but I explained she probably didn't do anything on purpose and has probably forgotten she did it anyway. Teaching someone with slight dementia about how someone further in on the journey is hard.   She's very paranoid at the mo. I said to him to just carry on like nothing happened.

thank you for your kind comments about the butterfly. Roma, the butterfly is from an adult colouring book so I chose my colours. When I buy a design, the colours are more than likely recommended and the colour numbers come with it. I should invest in a colour wheel but part of the pleasure of doing your own thing is opening the boxes of those jewel like threads and choosing.

I saved 60% on a pair of sheets for son's birthday present at Briscoes this morning. Am happy to pay $40, not $100 though!

morning ladies Smile Another wet day today so another guilt free embroidery day. Although I do need to get some baking into the freezer for when our whanau arrive next month.

We loved the Paddington skit with the Queen to open the Party at the Palace concert. Very clever. I always knew Her Majesty had a wicked sense of humour but this was brilliant.

The little clematis I have growing on the windowsill is going great guns and the older leaves are getting bigger. It won't be long and I'll have to repot it. Still a long way to go before I can plant it outside though.

It's hard chucking out years of stuff, Lilith. When I stopped teaching I had tons of stuff too but luckily was able to give a lot of it away to a new teacher. But there was still lots to burn and bin. There was the fear, 'what if I need this? So I scanned a lot of stuff 'just in case' but even then that was deleted over time. My thoughts changed to, if I die, do I want our kids to sort through this?

I see the bottom of my coffee cup and hear MrK moving about. The Furry One must still be on our bed as there is no sign of him.

Happy crafting Smile

I love the marmalade sandwich bit, having spent some time fine chopping a clutch of citrus from round the garden for my slow cooker marmalade experiment. I followed all the instructions and the perfume was wonderful for all those hours - but the results were not edible. So back to the traditional methods I go!

Must put the sugar I wasted back on the shopping list!

Morning all
Rain over night and over cast gloom this morning

OH sorry your marmalade experiment didn't work.  I mince the citrus in cooking lots and freeze 5hem that way when the urge to make marmalade comes I just have to reach in the freezer. I can't eat it now due to my BP meds but keep DH and friends suppled Big Grin

My creative mojo is resting cant get enthused to sew myself anything and can't get energy to make more baby bodysuits. I know its because I want to quilt and can't without the insert for my machine table. I am thinking if there is no progress I will get DS to make me one he can work with perspex.
My moan over, enjoying my coffee with k9 curled up beside me.
Shower next to wash off my gym session.

Have a good day

Morning everyone.

Getting sun and rain again today by the looks. Cold tho.. I have long sleeves on.

My mind is almost back to how it was when we sold up and moved into our Motorhome.. Im sick of all the stuff.. I did tho have storage space under the couch to the size of a single bed where my sewing and knitting supplies went in the bus. I think I might have another garage sale.

I dont like marmalade OHH but I did used to make it. For sales tables etc. Was my sister friends mother in laws recipe. How was the texture and taste from the crockpot?

Loved The Queen and Paddington bear.. Apparently their Christmases' are funny affairs buying silly funny gifts for each other.

I enjoyed watching the "Queens" of Tv last night.. Ive always like Betty White cos she played Sueanne Niven on Mary Tylor Moore, the only "person" I knew with my name. Although I dont have "E"s.

And Oddly I have something in common with Lucille Ball too. She saved Pencils.. They were something she never had when a child. She used Coal to write with. I always wanted felt tip pens when I was a kid but Mum couldn't afford them, being a young widow. Friends would let me use theirs when we were at school. But I didn't own any until I was at college. And I still have a thing about pencils and felt tip pens.

In 2018 a friend I met for the first when I was in hospital having my hernia surgery brought me in a care package and she included an adult colouring book and a Tin of coloured Pencils. I cried like a baby. Id never had a flash set of coloured pencils. lol.

Off to see MrP this morning.. He said yesterday that Bobbie was getting a little bit bossy, but I told him to just ignore it. She could be different every day.

Have a fab day everyone

You sound like me with crayons popeye, I have way too many cigar boxes full, but oh I do love them. Especially those soft expensive water colour kind.

But I am a bit of an obsessive when it comes to collecting colourful treasures, I find it very difficult to stop. Magpie streak in my genes...

Good morning on this "hunker down kind of day" teeming outside and my cat is seeking body heat, pushed up beside me!

Family gone back down the line and all is quiet, though will have some of the others around this afternoon.

I too have a colouring book, I bought a few years ago now, plus nice colour pencils ... so far they haven't been shared with the grandies. Haha, maybe I should, otherwise they'll be one of the 'treasures' found after I'm gone Big Grin How many of us are aware of having to cull/keep/giveaway house contents of those that have gone before us. A good incentive to "try" not to hoard! I'm definitely in the category of "keep, just in case"  Blush

The Queen's Jubilee celebration has been good to watch and especially enjoyed the Tea Party.

Late morning coffee finished,  need to move from my snuggly, warm cat and do some jobs.

Enjoy your day.

Yep, that's why I'm trying to do it now KM - so my kids won't have to. Sweetie darling no 2 & DIL were over yesterday so they got to choose one of the three framed pastels & also gave them one or two bits & pieces so that's some of it done. Still masses of it to go.

I enjoyed the Queen with Paddington bear; I hope she had fun making that, it looked as though she did. I'm not a royalist but enjoyed the old film bits of her & family when younger.

It was raining here earlier but the sun's out so risked hanging out the washing, fingers crossed.

I have a very special box of 24 Fabre Castile pencils - aged 65 years that have only ever been lovingly used once -I always wanted them but my parents just couldnÔÇÖt afford them - they were probably equivalent to a tank of gas in Dads sheep truck - anyway when I was 10 I was one of the unlucky kids of that era to get polio - I can remember the day Dad brought me the pencils - they wheeled my iron lung so I could see him in the mirror holding them up in the next room - he wrote me a note to say to be a good girl and he would leave them with the nurse - my staid old maiden aunt popped into view next she had a banana and a huge big drawing of a health germ - can remember it was like it was yesterday - the pencils still sit in their box didnÔÇÖt ever want to sharpen them away .

You need to use them Jan, even if it just to colour in one of the Mindfood pages at the back of the magazine! It would be a tragedy if you never got to use such a beautiful set!

My Mum used to use the polio epidemic as one of those stories that encourage when we had to have childhood jabs. She was training as a nurse during that time and was determined we would be protected by science from everything that might come along! It definitely convinced me, I get every jab going and now so does my kid over there in Perth. Neither of us have any fear of needles, though I confess a healthy reluctance to sign up for any more surgeries, past experience has led to that. I am just not so brave these days. Fortunately my daughter has far more guts than I do, but then she has responsibilities that I no longer have. That certainly is an incentive when it comes to life's challenges.

Gorgeous day here now, and I checked the trough with the cyclamen and the ranuncs, and I have buds! So exciting! And a bit of blue showing among the leaves of the blue lace primroses too so I shall be watching my deck pots with anticipation from now on...

Thats one of the things I think about.

I dont have anyone close enough to leave things too. Although I have promised my hand written cookbooks to one friend cos I know she will take the best care of them.

So I really think its time to whittle down and do a few things for myself before I get to creaky to do them.

Just got back from MrP and I dont know why I bothered today. He barely said two words and when he did he snapped at me.

They have covid there again. On a different wing this time. So I had to walk around a different way. If anyone saw the story on seven sharp a couple of weeks ago about the Surf Life saving club it was Jimmy Coe and his Daughter Tara. its their father and grandfather. I went to school with Jimmy and his sister Janine.. Jimmy was an all black albeit very briefly.
And another lady. But I know 3 other ladies on that wing so I have my fingers crossed. 2 especially cos they are both on oxygen.

Im annoyed... I saw 5 people in the supermarket without Masks... I dont care if they dont think enough of themselves but they need to spare a thought for everyone else.

C T Russell just agreed with me in the 'Arise pastor thread' - which is slightly worrying.

Hunni, I think anyone reluctant to get the jab against covid should be made to see the movie Breathe; its an excellent movie but has one harrowing scene in which the main characters visit a German hospital & see how their Polio patients exist.

The same movie has a lovely scene in which they visit Spain, his breathing equipment breaks down so someone goes back to the UK for another, & in the meantime, a bus
load of Spanish people including a priest, stop to help & it turns into a party on the side of the road - one of my favourite movies, despite the German hospital scene & based on a true story.

My young neighbour (early 40s lol) is a prime example. When I challenged him he told me he didn't trust the science. So, I asked him what he would do if he got really sick and he said he'd go to the hospital...

The irony completely escaped him.

.....

I seem to remember that CT is an escapee from a cult religion, which would account for their unaccustomed agreement with you. Otherwise they come across as extremely naive, a baby troll perhaps. It's not clear if the "CT" knowingly stands for Conspiracy Theorist or if it is just an amusing coincidence.

morning ladies Smile Very dark and damp outside this morning. I have an early start as I'm taking our friend's dad back to Waikato Hospital for his monthly appointment. Sad when family are too busy to take him.

A bit more was done on the butterfly's wing yesterday. I like your idea OHH of it being on the back of a jacket. Looking through my own designs and those I have bought, I have quite a selection suitable for the back of a jacket.

I wonder sometimes how CTs go down that dark rabbit hole and what makes them so suspicious to the point it could even kill them. They say we are 'sheeple' but they are doing the same thing by following others down that hole.

Time to get moving, I have to be gone by 7.30am. Our friend has the first appointment for the day Big Grin Big Grin
