You can never have enough...
Morning everyone

Overcast here and not as raw cold as the last couple of days.

Free entertainment is good.. Dam I remember seeing something rather yummy recently but cant remember if it was "Live" or on TV lol.. tbh its not often I notice lol... but this time I did.. lol

Off to visit the July ones this morning. I have to have a talk with Bobbie about putting in a complaint about waking up to find one of the men trying to get into her bed. She was scared and called out to MrP.. The man in question has very bad dementia, he tries to pull the staff onto his bed too. hes very strong. Apparently Bobbie let rip with a good Scottish brogue. But its coming time that this man was put in somewhere secure.. There are ladies in there that couldn't fight him off.
She might be 4'10"ish and only 43 kilos but I call her my little Pocket Rocket lol.

Might have to plan a baking session for them later. Ive barely touched mine. but since I got butter for $4 a block the other day I will use a block and freeze some..

I have some chicken soup out to heat up and take up to them for lunch or tea. Depending I guess on what they dish up for lunch.

Finally got it sorted about the washing. They were having trouble with the phones so we emailed. They are contracting out the washing, but dont want peoples nice woollens going into commercial laundries.. They have always known that I was MrPs anyway, so I will do his and Bobbies. The rest can go off sight for washing.

I had a lazy day yesterday playing games for most of it. I must look up this wordle thing tho... Can anyone recommend a good place to find it? Ill be doing it on the lappy not my phone.

Have a fab day everyone

Here for the original 5 letter version (refreshed at midnight), or here for the six letter (and other) versions which refreshed twice a day. Enjoy Smile

Me neither, probably for the same reason. Rolleyes

It could be any word - I'll stick to the odd crossword.

morning ladies Smile Another wintery day here, we're in for rain over the next few days.

I love wordle as I love how a word can change letter by letter into another word. Thank you for sharing the links. harm_less. Smile

My clematis seedling is spurting along, it seems much happier where I moved it too. MrK discovered some avocados sprouting in the worm farm so we have them growing too. Will be interesting to see how they grow this side of the Kaimai Ranges.

Popeye, Spark were having issues with phones the other day. Customers weren't able to use their phones for quite a few hours. I wondered if it was interfering with the internet as we were having issues there too. Poor Bobby, I hope she does make the complaint about that man and it's taken seriously. Pretty scary for her. It does sound like he needs a more secure home. Dementia is a cruel disease.

At some stage this year/early next year, we will be helping my sister-in-law move house. It just reinforces to me about decluttering now, rather than later in life.

I've had an idea for a pin cushion (I use lots of them) and might have a tutu with it. But then, the falcon is calling me lol. I'm working under his chin now where there are big groups of feathers. I think I'll just draw my idea in my book and leave it there to 'simmer' for a bit. It may not be practical anyway.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Will have a look at the links later Thanks Harm_less. I dont have a very logical brain at times. sometimes it takes me ages to figure out the simplest way to do things lol.

I spoke to Bobbie yesterday and she said she would have a word with the manager, but Ive asked MrP to remind her.. I will also tell the big Boss on Tuesday too.

Im baking this morning, its all measured out trays lined etc. Im taking some up to one of the ladies around the corner from MrP too lol...

Bobbie told me yesterday , you need to rest dont work all day.. lol.. I said I rested on Friday.. But I told her the Kitchen is my Happy place.

It has rained overnight but I dont think it was much.

Had to reset the Modem last night . It was having a hissy.

Right better do FB and then into the kitchen.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning.

A dull day but I don't think we will be in line for rain this time ... a bonus if it eventuates!

Yes KM, wordle is fun, harmless and its free ... always good to test the brain cells lol Smile

I hope they move the dementia resident somewhere safe Popeye ... that would be a worry you wouldn't need when in your own room. Do the residents have 'buzzers' that they can use?

The gloves I was knitting turned into mittens with the wool supply looking doubtful ... "just" enough, phew! Now for another knitting project to work on .....

This afternoon is looking like a baking one and I have a roast lamb I found in the freezer to slow cook afterwards  Tongue

Enjoy the rest of the day all.

I hope they can manage to find a way of keeping the dementia patient from wandering into other people's rooms Popeye.

Raining again here, apparently set to continue for the day. We went for an early walk & just got back as it started.
I'm fairly sure that the dog knows when its a Saturday or Sunday; she's somehow worked out that we tend to do an early walk on those days & starts giving me the evil eye 'shouldn't-we-be-going-now' look the minute the dishes are done.

Bobbie, and all the other female residents need a whistle to wear round their necks if they are not safe from others...

Raining

I had a fabulous time at sewing weekend 3.5 days lots sewing, laughs and great someone else doing the cooking Big Grin

Got a few things sewn up and seen some others that I want to sew. Its a great time we try on each others creations loan patterns and donate fabric whats not to enjoy Cool

KM we never switch our hear pump off its on 24/7 mostly chugging at 14 degrees which keeps the chill off . When its colder at in winter we turn it up 18 but always back down when we head off to bed.

The whistle sounds like a good idea poor Bobby and the other women.

Off to the gym soon then have a couple of meetings later today that I need to do the reading for so a bit to keep me occupied.

Have a good day
It's fun to have fun but you have to know how  Big Grin

morning ladies Smile Whoahhhh we have some decent rain this morning. It rained a bit yesterday but we have the works now.

I like the idea of a whistle too, it's easy to use and can be hung around the neck and the sound carries well. Our old lifejackets had whistles attached as blowing into a whistle takes less energy than yelling for help. We carried one when hiking too.

Mica, our pump is also set at 18. We find that's the perfect temperature for us. When Dad lived with us he was always cold so it was bumped up to 24 and we cooked. At night we turn it down to 16 otherwise we are turfing off blankets. Your retreat sounds like it was a lot of fun. Always good to get together with like minded people!

Late yesterday afternoon the 15 poplar trees three times the height of a house were dropped. It took just under three quarters of an hour! Omggg the difference it makes to our home! So much more light in the dining room. And we thought we had a light and airey home. Even though the trees were a paddock away, they cast a long shadow. The littlies across the road loved it lol. Mind you, we did too Tongue This morning it seems so strange not to see the trees there.

I've made an executive decision about the falcon. I'm going to put it away for a while as I'm just going round in circles with it. Will finish it another time. Just not now. MrK is happy as he wants to French polish the frame he made and he couldn't do that while I was using it. He's also made me a wee pot to stand my awl, scissors and unpicker in as I work. He spotted me trying to find them buried under threads and thought I could use it. He comes up with all sorts of ideas.

Better get cracking, I might pull another bedroom apart and 'spring' clean it seeing as I can't get outside today. I also need to find some picture frames I have stashed away for some prints I found in a draw. We bought them on our honeymoon 36 years ago and they are finally being framed. Better late than never.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Warm and wet here too... No hottie this morning lol

I did the Healthy home quiz for rentals and they dont have to put a Heat pump until July 2024... I seldom use a heater anyway but its odd. If I was a new tenant then they have to do it straight away .

I like the idea of the whistle too, but even if they did the attendants would take their time anyway.

I have my meeting with the top boss tomorrow so I will be telling her. Bobbie promised to tell the manager today, so I will encourage her again this morning.

Loved my baking session yesterday, even tho it wrapped around having to ring an ambulance for a friend in Tauranga.. She's a stubborn tart and I warned her I would. And I did. Not her heart but it could have very easily been.

Off to see MrP today, I have to admit I really dont feel like it today. But I will drop off his goodies I baked.. And I need to get my pills on my way back.

Your weekend sounds like it was Fun Mica.. Lots of laughter is highly needed these days lol.

Have a fab day everyone

In a way that delay till July 24 is a good thing. New tenants to our villages were given a very ordinary little panel heater fixed to the wall, which meant that bit of the room couldn't be used for anything else. Being tiny spaces that was irritating. There has been a change in policy though and now they are using heat pumps so those of us still waiting will get a cooling function as well which will be very useful in future summers. Especially as we age and are unable to deal with increased warmth.

The only issue will be where those things go...

The cooling is the thing that I would use most... Im "old" school I guess.. Put extra layers of clothes on and get a hottie or blanket... I hate seeing people with heaters etc on and wearing Tshirts.. Are   they rich? lol

Ohhh lol.... One happy Lassy here.

Got a letter from my cardiology visit.. With the Numbers... Ive actually lost ******* 29 ****** kilos... No wonder Im feeling the cold. Thats in 10 months 10 days..

Yippeee... no wonder my clothes are hanging on me.. and my boobs have vanished lol... and my rings are loose.

Good afternoon.

That's a fabulous result Popeye. You must be feeling so pleased with yourself  Smile I like the house just warm but not hot in the winter ... prefer not to have a big shock when venturing outside!

I have my gd here, time to pick up her brothers from school before long. It is looking decidedly dark outside .... that would be typical of the time of day (and day of week) for rain to arrive! We haven't had very much yet, so it will be welcome after 3pm.

A fun few days for you Mica ... nothing like getting ideas from other like-minded people.

Yes a whistle might work ... probably have the other residents come to your aid faster than the staff, lol!

Better get moving.

Happy rest of day.

Well done Popeye, you're doing well. Smile
And yes - it annoys my Scots ancestry to see people wasting perfectly good money by using a heater while wearing only a t shirt!

I have an unfair advantage  OHH.. A new pill for diabetes.  Empagliflozin.  Pretty much makes ya pee.. but My sugars are really good now and I am Honestly Never hungry. I eat my breakfast cos of pills. And sometimes have a biscuit or one slice of bread for lunch if I need pain meds. And I often skip dinner in favour of my small bowl of chips and a row of chocolate at supper time when Im reading...

I used to be able to sit and eat a large bag of chips and a 200gramish bar of chocolate in one sitting... now the chips last 3-4 nights. And the Chocolate is one row a night off the 350 gram or 2 rows off the 200 gramish ones.

When I had my big day out I got to 2pm and thought Opps crap I better eat something Im driving lol..  I do have to be careful when it comes to things like that. and When I take my big pain med since the only time my tummy is full is after breakfast.
