You can never have enough...
morning ladies Smile Another fine stunning autumnal day here. Roma, can you send the rain over the hills to us please!

I meant to say thank you to you, mica, for posting the Sewing Bee link. I'll watch it today when I have a bit more indoors time. Smile

Good luck with the DHB response, popeye. But it does sound positive if the MoH have handed it on.

Gorgeous pot and cyclamen, OHH. The prefect 'pot' and spot for them. I used to have them rambling through the garden but they seem to have been lost in time.

Today I'll dig the new edging in properly and replant the aquilegias I had to dig out. Just as well they are tough plants but just in case, I have them in a bucket of water with a decent splash of worm wee.

Did anyone see Country Calendar last evening? A couple waaayyyy down South are making whiskey. Can't wait for them to market that as I would love to drink a NZ whiskey.

I stitched a little yesterday Big Grin Big Grin and boy, it felt good. Even if I'm not overly happy with what I did lol. But the needle was in my hand so that's something.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning all.

Lovely day now,  after some drizzle this morning. Much prefer a dry run for school drop off! It seems that this side of the "hill" is having a much better season with plenty of rain KM, certainly a change from getting to the top of the Kaimais and seeing lush green after leaving behind dry, brown!

We watched CC ... that guy gave such a fascinating commentary on the whiskey making process. Good to see it happening in NZ.

Time for a walk with gd and dog,  then a day of keeping each other entertained  Smile

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Another chilly start but a beautiful day is on the cards..

Just as well I was up early cos I had a guy come to do a quote for the lawn.. I was standing there in my nightie lol.

I rang the home and Im going up at 10am in the hope of being there while the DR is.

Oh achy bones this morning lol but I did enjoy doing what I did. But I have to be realistic, its way beyond my capability.. And to think I used to mow 52 lawns a fortnight years back. lol

Glad you got some stitching done Kiwimade.. It will be alright in the end.

Mica getting K9 food is just as hard as feline food. The shelves are very light here. Thankfully I found a new one that Madam likes..

My new Diamond painting pen must have arrived on Friday, I only checked the mailbox yesterday cos I was standing next to it lol... Although Im sure I checked it, so it was either late or they have changed the days Yet again.

Right a quick check of Fb then Ill bag up some more baking for MrP.

Have a fab day everyone

Things are taking a much longer time to get to us too. Parcels from the South Island travel faster than those from just up the road. It is a very strange world still, with this pandemic thing...

morning ladies Smile  Fingers crossed for rain soon!

It's bizarre, isn't it, how the mail system works now. I guess it's about how many people are sick or self isolating and filling those gaps.

Yesterday I finished the new garden edging and had enough soil to shuffle round and replant some plants.  Even MrK likes it so I thought I'll strike while the iron is hot and suggested we replace all the edges with railway sleepers or old fence posts. Not all at once though as the awful concrete fill edging needs to be disposed of as we go.  He looked at me as if I was mad.  Maybe I am Tongue  But like Baldrick, I have a cunning plan...

It's recycling day today for us.  The cans, glass, and soft plastics are building up so it's a trip to the transfer station, a Countdown for the soft plastics and op shops for the pile of stuff we no longer need.  I try and buy products in glass jars and milk bottles are used for the worm wee where possible.

Today I'll finish the lawn when the bin man has been.  Both bins are chokka with concrete fill, prunings and grass clippings, and weeds we can't compost.  And I need to vacum as family are coming for lunch tomorrow.  Not that it matters about the vacuming but I still like it done anyway. And I hope to work on the falcon,  it would be nice to be stitching more than just a head.

Morning everyone

An intentional lay in this morning. Sort of overcast here.

I cant believe how sore I am from holding the weed eater.. Its soo strong that I had to hold it from having a mind of its own and getting away from me.

The Dr. seems to think MrPs headache is angina.. I said yeah well if it is that's a good reason to put him back on isosorbide mononitrate then isn't it.. he was gobsmacked to say the least lol... "Yeah I learnt how to rattle that one off years ago "lol... He said that's exactly what I was going to prescribe. I then told him about the argument I had with a previous Dr who told me off for Putting MrP back on it when the hospital had stopped it... So Time will tell.

The DHB contacted me yesterday and told me that the very head manager of CHT will arrange a meeting with me. Which she did this morning.. She was very nice and let me decide where.. So I said at the home. And she asked if I wanted the manager in too I said no thanks.. She doesn't listen or do anything to make things better.

MrP has gained some weight although Bobbie has lost 2 kilos.. she is now only 43 kilos. So the slightly better food is helping MrP .
I admit when they wanted it to go back to the head of CHT I thought that's it, nothing will happen. But I wont let it rest and the Media will be my next step if they dont fix things.

Hehehe Kiwimade, "Planting the Seed" in MrKs head about the edging.. I used to do that with MrP.. once he had thought about it, it became his idea and was a good one and things happened.. I still got what I wanted that way lol.

Lol at your Fingers Mica. If I had been "window" shopping online the other night when my fingers were cramping up Id have oodles of parcels arriving lol..

Im having a Do what I can with my very weak body. Even pushing the button on the loo is too hard for my fingers.. have to use my thumb lol... It really isnt a good look lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Warm again here but not as warm as yesterday, I'm really noticing the difference warmer weather makes to my old bones too, think its probably arthritis, dammit.

Did shopping earlier & got some of the vegan hot dogs DIL told me about so went looking for the bread rolls - all they had were brioche style so had to get them.
Turns out DIL was right, the 'hot dogs' are really yummy & the brioche bun thingys worked well too so will be getting both again, very good for when I can't be bothered cooking much.

And had a last go at a canvas I ruined ages ago & had intermittently been flinging house paint at, using those little test pots, decided to use what paint hadn't dried up since I last felt the urge to do a 'Jack the dripper' style, so that's done at last.

morning ladies Smile It's definitely getting cooler in the morning now but oh boy, are we having stunning days.

MrK's family are coming for morning tea and lunch this morning. It will be lovely to see them. The Furry One will be happy as his 'cousins' will be here too and they go nuts together. Another reason it's great to still have a fine day lol. Two big dogs and one little dog racing round inside is pure madness.

Lilith, I haven't tried the vegan 'meat' and have wondered what it was like. There is no way on God's green earth MrK will 'go vegan' but I would like us to try a little bit. So it's always good to hear from others what it is like.

Popeye, I stopped using the weed eater ages ago as it was just too heavy for me to control as well. Turned out it was quicker for me to do the edges by hand. It's sitting in the garden shed doing nothing so might list it for sale.

Coffees finished, washing machine has beeped at me so that's my cue to get moving.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIWIMADE..!!! Have an awesome Day with the family and furry ones...

Yeah its rough on the body. But just 20 years ago I could run around with one all day lol... The body sure has changed since then. lol.

Ill try and do a bit more today... got a quote from one company yesterday $1067 PLUS GST so closer to $1300.. I suspect its the Oh a lady on her own we can charge the earth... The others are all under $200.

Off to see MrP today he reckons his head hasn't changed

Ill stop at the supermarket on the way home to get some sugar , he wants strawberry jam and I know I have some in the freezer.

I spent too much time looking for my alarm necklace yesterday. I didn't put it in my usual place on Monday but thought it was a safe place. I had put something in front of it and couldn't see it for looking lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Another nice day here too.

Happy birthday KM.

Back from gym and sipping my coffee making it last while DH does the kitchen clean up Big Grin

The fabric I ordered from Backstreet Bargins on Sunday day arrived last evening cant complain about the quick service. So will pop thzt into the washing machine and dryer today and make up a kit for the retreat.
Finished knitting the matching hat and have a scarf for me on the needles  pattern off Ravelry Copilot I have knitted it before and its an easy knit.

Clicky finger is still twitchy and have looked at bra fabrics and lace the pull is getting stronger Big Grin

PE it is not just restbhomes that don't feed their residents. Was talking to friend whose DD 8s in uni halls residence shed and 7 others are vegan, and half of them don't eat mushrooms so what is on the menu every other day mushroom risotto
H
She has moved her DD out, like mentioned above there are some good vegan food to be found in the supermarket freezers. KM my DH didn't notice the difference when I tried vegan meat patties in hamburgers one night we are omnivores here.
Have a great day everyone

I would lose mine too if I took it off. So I don't! Having spent most of yesterday stripping the bed, laundering, plumping up, remaking, and then decobwebbing that part of the room I neglected to put the Amish quilt back and of course it was a cool one. Then the cat decided she had had insufficient dinner and  proceeded to beat me into submission at 2am, so I got up and fed her to shut her up. She was highly delighted, until it set her innards off and she first used the litter box to relieve pressure in a very stinky fashion, then a bit later threw up - fortunately on the floor, not the rug or the bed - so last night was one of those more forgettable ones.

I will now fast her till I get home this afternoon to make sure her gut has recovered. Oh the joys of an elderly feline...

And the gratitude for polished floors.

Good morning.

Lovely day ahead.

O dear OHH, my old feline is quite 'good' at bringing up stomach contents ... I have more wooden floor than carpet, but he likes to choose carpet/mats for the deposit  Dodgy  I've found little and often with food reduces the likelihood and I torment him often with the fur comb to help with less fur ingestion!

Happy birthday KM ... enjoy the day with family .... and dogs.

Off to do some errands after my coffee.

Have a good day all.

She has IBS which adds to her woes - and mine. I suspect too that there may be something else going on because she has lost a lot of weight lately. But, other than the inconvenience of it, she seems to be in no pain, is very active, and has a far bigger appetite than I care to satisfy, so I am putting it down to old age and trying not to let it get in the way of our very companionable relationship. After all, we almost have each other fully trained...

And yes, she lives a good brushing. Being a rex cross she has an awful lot of soft fluff to block the pipes!

Have you noticed blood in the poo?

Sad story. My daughter's cat (only 7 years old at the time) was vomiting quite a lot, which she put down to hairballs and eating his food too quickly. She then went off to spend a 3 week Christmas in UK with her brother and I had to look after her 2 cats. I noticed one was losing weight around his haunches and straining to poo, so took him to the vet. Vet said probably bladder infection and gave antibiotics. But then I noticed blood and poo on the floor of her flat so begged her to take him back to the vet when she got home. She did, XRays were taken and the vet said it was bowel cancer and she had taken him in just before the large tumour broke through the intestine, which would have been very painful for him. So surgery was done and chemo given (as he was such a young and beautiful cat). He did so well through all that and was eating throughout. He lasted 3 more happy years until the cancer returned.

KM, Happy birthday. Some vegan stuff is really nice & some is just dire - I tried an 'alternative mince' which was horrible, but luckily the dog liked it!

Not only a granddaughter has covid but now both her parents - sweetie darling no.2 & DIL, have it as well! DIL not best pleased, as she'd only just got back to work after school holidays.
Had planned to do lawn & a bit of gardening today, so naturally I woke up to find dense fog & wet lawn. So I made more tomato soup instead & took dog for an early short walk; we just made it past grumpy dog without him barking by the skin of our teeth.
The fog's lifted but now clouded over & cold-ish.
