You can never have enough...
Absolute stunning Kiwimade - first time I have felt like smiling for days - the fluff under his chin is the icing on the cake

That's just gorgeous Kiwimade, the fluffy feathers effect worked well - you must be really pleased with it. Smile

morning ladies Smile  We have rain clouds!  Now lets see if we have rain today.

Thank you so much for your kind comments.  I am happy with the Turkey Rug Stitch I used under the tui's chin.  It's an easy stitch to do but it does pay to make the loops longer than you need so when you cut them, you can also trim back to the length you need.  I ran my needle through the cut loops to split the single threads even further and then washing the piece fluffed it even more.  I'm also happy with the kowhai flowers.  In my first attempt I couldn't work out how to 'plump' the flowers up but this time I added some padding under the long and short stitch.  I'm still going through photos to help me decide on my next bird.

It's the Furry One's birthday today and he's 11.  So getting up there in age but still thinks he's a young dog when he chases rabbits.  We have some brisket bones in the freezer for him which he only occasionally has because of the high fat content.  But today he can have one.

Housework to do today, I have spiders to evict again.  It doesn't take long but it's not my favourite thing to do.  At least the ironing was done yesterday after I ironed my tui embroidery.  Seemed logical to do it while the board was out.

Thought I would post a pic of the Furry One seeing it's his birthday before I sign off.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

And Happy Birthday to the Furry one.. A handsome wee man he is... Our Missy will be 8 on the 23rd.

Time is flying by. and a scary year for me cos both our previous babies got to 8 but also died at 8 too. One to cancer the other complications of diabetes. But for now she is the best alarm a person could have. She walks up the length of my body and licks my chin lol.. When shes awake its time to get up lol. Or so she thinks.

Day of 2 moods yesterday. MrP was good at lunchtime and shocking at teatime. Its like Jekyll and Hide.

Heard from my new Dr. He sounds young but caring which is good. Its unrealistic for me to travel to my one that just left. so Ill have to train this one up. He's done my x-ray form finally lol... I think it got lost in the change over. So Ill go pick that up. The x-rays are now done in the new hospital in Pukekohe. Im not sure if you have to make an appointment or if you can just roll on in.

Well done to our Kiwi Girls for whipping India's team. I wish I could see the games tho.

Im on the hunt for some ripe bananas today. Everywhere I went yesterday only had green ones. but oddly some of them were soft but still green.

Have a fab day everyone

Bit silvery sky here too, but that's to be expected as I plan a catfood potting mix library coffee run today, so I shall take the big brolly just in case. Big enough to keep me and the scoot dry. Nice to have an excuse to put good clothes on for a change, reminds me of dressing up to go to town!

I painted a yellow and blue block on the front door yesterday, that maternity hospital shelling made me cross enough to want to do something. So I did that then took my ire out on the top drawer in the kitchen - you know the one that catches all the crumbs and drips. It is all shiny and clean now, lol.

Our community manager tells us there is no omicron in the North Shore villages, but I am still wary of it, so told the booking nurse from orthopedics yesterday when she phoned about my op that I'm deferring till the future is a little less stressful. She pronounced that a 'very sensible move' and gave me her number to call when I feel more comfortable about risking the surgery. Thank goodness for good drugs...

And things to do!

Happy birthday to the furry one.

Did a very little bit in the garden but its starting to get quite warm out there - we're supposed to get to28 today so took dog for an early walk. Inspired by your door Hunni so as I happen to have a bit of chalk, I've now got a chalk yellow & blue 'flag' on the path & front steps.

I think one of his staff needs to stop Putin going any further, & I hope someone does. Ideally, a very public - & very fatal 'heart attack' might be the thing.
If I was feeling vindictive i might wish someone use the same substance he's used on other unfortunate's who opposed him.

morning ladies Smile  Another dry day here but boy, the maize harvesters are loving it.  Maize cutting is in full swing now so watch for the contractors on the road -assuming you are on the road with these awful petrol prices.

Lilith, MrK and I were saying the very same thing about Putin.  Wouldn't it be karma if he went the same way his opponents went.  I also suspect his demise will come from within his inner circle.  Sooner or later those oligarch's are going to get pi**** off with not being able to use their luxury items and do the deed.  As for bombing the maternity hospital, that surely is a war crime?  What made it worse was the general trying to justify it.

Yesterday I printed out a full colour and several black and white photos of our native falcon.  I took the photo in 2017 at the Otorohanga Kiwi House.  Stuck my camera hard up against the wire cage and snapped and ended up with a photo I could only dream of ever taking. I use the black and white photos for showing the high and low lights clearly and I print several as I write notes and draw all over them.   I've done a rough sketch in my art book and will tidy that up today so I can transfer the picture to fabric.  So my challenge is to embroider the falcon and do him justice.    Fingers crossed.

I'm off to find some blue and yellow chalk... I really like Lilith's idea  Heart

Drizzly day here

KM if anyone can do the falcon justice it will be you.

We had 4 people over for dinner last night and they were really sweet and did RAT tests before they came because one couple had be to funeral up north and the other out and about for her job not expected but appreciated.

Food hunted and cooked and cleaned yesterday so no sewing. The house does look lovely and tidy so no need for housework today Big Grin

Having a leisurely start with our coffee DH watching golf on TV

Have a good day

Fine here too. The hills are going brown again.

Oh Kiwimade as Mica said you will do justice to the Falcon for sure.

I dont have a place where anyone will see my support for Ukraine, unless they come down the drive that I share.. When people were putting teddies out for Covid it was the same . I couldn't do anything.

Got my form for the x-ray yesterday and went straight over to do it. They dont make appointment's for plain x-rays now, you just rock on in.. I waited like 4 minutes max.. Was a tad bit narly by the time we finished twisting it. I had to warn the lady doing it tho cos My knees are really ticklish. I warned MrP when we first got together that I kick like a mule if you grab my knee lol.
So I treated myself to some fish and chips from a shop that I know do nice ones. I seldom eat out. Got a piece of fish and one scoop of chips for $6-50 which I thought was reasonable, sooo many chips that I had a huge meal of left overs for my tea lol.

Was going to sew but I really need my knee to settle down again. It had been really good for the last few days . But I have plenty of time to sew. Ill crochet again instead.

Have a fab day everyone

One of my neighbours has a much older sister (in her late 80s) who has just had a knee replacement. A week after the surgery she is telling him how much easier it is to get around, and how pleased she is with the lower pain levels. I scoffed a wee bit because I had heard it is a challenging one to deal with, but apparently there have been so many improvements over the last decade to the way they do the procedure that it is a very different experience.

I hope the same can be said for hip ops!

It did indeed het to 28 yesterday & seems to be heading there again today so we went for another early walk - early enough to go past grumpy dog's place, because he'll still be tucked up in bed.
Coming back, there were two kids making a hut on their front lawn from chairs & blankets; I remember doing the same thing when I was a kid so when they called if did I like their hut I told them it was excellent.
Finished that last tiny bit of weeding & not venturing out there again,

My friend just back from the dog park sent me a photo of the dog dropping bins at the park - somebody has plastered a photo of Putin on them and labeled them POO TIN - thought that was very clever !

My friend Ali loved that meme with the two old ladies in their blanket tent,  armed with wine bottles and glasses. She used to say that was us on our Fridays...

Though truth was my days of climbing under tables were long gone even then.
Whoops, typed my reply in the wrong place!  Sorry to interrupt you popeye!

Lol I saw a Poo Tin picture on FB already.

And they are officially allowing stuff like that on there too, which is amazing.

I can still get up and down off the floor but not very ladylike lol..

Ohh dear the Home rung. Guess who was really down cos I hadnt rung him, and he wanted the police to check on me.

Well He knows now to think about what he says to me. hes very tired so I told him to have a nap and that Id ring him tomorrow again.

If he thought about it, it was him that made me independant and to be able to do things myself and stick up for myself and Him.. He just never expected me to stand up to him. lol.

Knee is feeling good at the mo thank goodness.

Wow CHCH is too hot for this cookie at the Mo thats for sure.
