You can never have enough...
Lawns are mowed and just in time before all the shade disappeared. I helped MrK put the car on blocks so he can do the oil and filter change. There's no swearing so things must be going right.

Roma, we're on a detour as well as they are rebuilding a bridge and road. Thought we had lots of traffic before, it's even worse now and we'll have it until the middle of April. Mind you, the bridge was dangerous and needed to be sorted out. And I think there are major roadworks on the Kaimai Ranges so lots of stop and go stuff.

Kettle's boiled, I'll see if MrK is ready for a cuppa. He'll have to wait for the old oil to drain so might as well have one while he waits.

morning ladies Smile  Another stunning day today, bring on Tuesday's rain!

Yesterday I worked some more on the frog and have finally completed the arm/leg I was working on.  I had a rethink of the pattern I was stitching and he now has a  wiggly stripe down his arm/leg and looks much better than my original idea.  Sometimes I just have to step away from my sewing and come back to it a day or two later with better ideas.  So now I'm working on his haunches so almost finished.

Today I'm going to potter about, the ironing needs doing and I'll finish decluttering a bedroom.  I know a lot of you don't iron but since downsizing, space is a premium and ironing keeps things organised in the linen cupboard and draw.

I could even start digging the hole for moving the rose I need to move and cut it back.  Then on Tuesday while it's raining I can move it without too much fuss.  If I had known what the rose was when it was given to me it would have been planted at the back right at the beginning.  But it was just a half dead stick in the ground with no label to say what it was.  To be fair, I expected it to die. But now it has at least six strong canes and is taller than our fence.

Overcaxt at the moment t but think it will burn off

Yesterday turned out to be busy, cut out and sewed up a bias rayon T in animal print I am a sucker for animal prints  Big Grin
DD and DGD visited in the afternoon and used our printer to print off stuff she needed. I think we provided company while DSIL was out playing cricket.

Son and his family popped in after tea to drop off some N95 and P2 masks for us in prep for the virus.

So we had a family orientated day Nice that we all live in same suburb .

Meeting up with friends for lunch at their place today and will pick up a friend who is visiting from the deep south. She is going to spend a couple of days here.

That frog is developing KM I am looking forward to seeing him/her when finished

Have a good day

Morning everyone

Very still here. Not sure what will happen weather wise.

I totally enjoyed all the cricket yesterday but was laughing my head off with the Black clash last night. Tom Walsh is cute lol... I was getting frustrated at Keiren Reed but he did a good job too. Friends in Tauranga went and her hubby chose the cricket team, and MrP chose the cricket team so we Gals are gloating lol.

I did a bit of cleaning in the morning. Not sure if any of you have tried the "Bar Keepers friend" powder cleaner. Its like the old Vim (showing my age) lol.. Did the glass hob and oven door and they have come up lovely.

Crochet a couple of squares while I watched the cricket.. and trying to see my friends at the same time lol.

I need to finally get the steam mop out and pout that together and will have a shot as at a couple of marks on the carpet. Theyre not bad but I think the steam will help lift them.

Have a house inspection on Thursday so making a better effort. it is handy that I only use half the house tho lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning another beautiful day but we definitely need some serious rain the hills around are starting to get very brown
Had a tooth out on Friday feeling a bit sorry for myself - why is it you really fancy something you canÔÇÖt eat when you are limited to eating mush
I have finished my grandsons blanket except for the ten thousand ends I have to deal with - this is the last picture blanket I am making - I tell myself every time I will do them as I go but never do - itÔÇÖs looking spectacular but not enthused about the colours - red and grey but itÔÇÖs his school colours .My Grandaughter in Oz is having another baby when I find out the sex the new babies blanket will be one colour !
Popeye I am not missing having the big house to look after - I was reluctant to move but this little house has everything I need now I am on my own - I was cleaning those extra bathrooms and bedrooms just for the few occasions I had guests
My veggiepod continues to flourish - I bought a shade cover for the very hot days which was $30 well spent .I am flat out propagating seeds - I have 3 purple snow peas going in today and 3 freckles lettuce - growing the seeds means I can grow a few - the bundles from Robies shop had 10 or 12 seedlings in them so even though they cost me nothing I am enjoying planning and propagating accordingly
The frog is going to be spectacular Kiwimaid
Might just take it easy today I think

morning ladies Smile  A slightly overcast start to the day, let's see if it rains.  The paddocks are brown around us too.

It looks like my sister-in-law's memorial can go ahead under the red traffic light system as there will be under 100 people and we were planning on using vaccine passes anyway.  Better to do it before things change again.  If nothing else, we're learning pretty quickly to adapt to change.

Yesterday I worked on my frog and am over the moon with the results so far.  I should finish it any day now.

But first I need to pull a few weeds.  It's an endless task but very satisfying.  I noticed yesterday some seedlings from the tree MrK is going to chop down  have sprung up.  I need to pull them out while they are small as it's a harder job once they take root.

Morning everyone

We have had rain overnight. Was a warm one for sure. But Im loving the smell of it on the cut grass.

Ohh Kiwimade he just gets better and Better. Have taken a photo to show MrP.

Im assuming Im still allowed in. I figure they should ring if things have changed. And for the first time the only thing Im taking up is a needle and cotton to sew a button back on his jammies lol. no food .

I admit to a lazy day yesterday and the bones are telling me off lol...

I have to plan a baking session for tomorrow for the people that are mowing my lawn.. Will do more shortbread of course cos the man loves it. Told me hasn't had any shortbread so nice since his mother died. Several years ago I was given some cookie presses so Im going to play with them The kids will love the pictures.

We are due a house inspection on Thursday and I have decided they wont get in without a vaccine pass. Its within my rights to ask. And I know the younger girl who has done it in the past is anti vacc and the government. So she wont get in without it.

Within an hour and a half yesterday after the announcement of the change of levels the toilet paper isle at the supermarket was half empty. And the shop was packed.. I nipped in and through the self serve to get out as fast as I could. Panic shopping and were not even locked down.. Stupidity at its finest.

Good morning.

Yay, it's raining  Shy It's been awhile since using an umbrella for doggie walk and her getting wet!

Supermarket run this morning was fairly civilised, with everything I needed available. The loo paper was looking slightly depleted. I wish chelsea sugar would replace their supplies of recalled product (contaminated with lead) sooner rather than later ... golden syrup, brown sugar!

I guess the daily covid tally is going to look a lot worse from from now on. We will be doing more of the same .... limited outings!

A day to find some handcraft (better than housework) to do. I'm inspired to have a go at embroidery again kiwimade ... the frog is coming along beautifully. I wonder if there are kits available  Undecided

Enjoy the day.

Good morning - your frog is stunning Kiwimade another family heirloom for your future generations
But of a grey day today - my propagating seedlings are all stretching towards the light - the sun is usually streaming in on them
The supermarket panic buying is stupid - yesterday multiple trolleys over $1000 each went through the checkout at my sons shop and he has limits on products - his supermarket is in a low income area so he knows his regulars are not those shoppers but there is nothing he can do - the supply chain is already broken so itÔÇÖs not easy to fill the shelves again - feel sorry for the staff
I looked online to buy some more Susan Boye finishing needles - the have a point at both ends you put the wool through the middle so they make the sewing in of ends so much easier .One supplier has them available - out of stock everywhere else - they usually cost under $10 but one company has them listed for $74.80 - I contacted them to see if it was a mistake and this rude person was so abusive - entitled he reckoned to charge whatever he liked which is true I guess but I bet he doesnÔÇÖt sell any
Back to the dentist tooth gap is a bit messy

morning ladies Smile We had rain! Omggg lol even the grass is starting to green up a bit. And it looks like we will have more today too.

Thank you for your comments about my frog. Smile I spent quite a bit of time on it yesterday and if it keeps raining today, will finish it. I'm thinking of putting dragonflies on the other side of the bag and scattering a few around the frog. I'll post another pic when done Smile Time to start thinking about what to stitch next.

Roma, I read on Stuff a few minutes ago, brown sugar will be back on our shelves over the next week or two. I've missed it for baking but must admit my waistline hasn't.

Jan, that is a lot of money in one shop! I've shopped normally (or as 'normally' as stock allows) since the beginning of the pandemic. I suppose on the flip side though, if you have a family and one gets omicron, it will take weeks to work it's way through the family and they could be self isolating for over a month so I guessthey are thinking along those lines. I've had a 'stock take' of what we have and we have most things on the government checklist. I need to buy more tissues as a box was opened the other day. I always have a spare in the cupboard as hayfever is a bi***. And if I buy ice blocks I know they will just be eaten lol. And I used the last of the disposable gloves when cleaning the oven not long ago so must replace them.

MrK went for his booster jab the other day but was turned away as he was a week away from his four month gap. So we wait until next week for him. I'll try and find a local walk in for him otherwise we'll be in Rotorua soon and will find one there. He's not saying anything but I can see he's stressing about it.

Time to bet a move on, things to do in spite of the rain Smile

Morning everyone

We had a day of showers, even had to use the windscreen wipers lol...... Shows how dry its been when we are all excited about the rain lol.

Wow thats alot of groceries... People were mainly just getting toilet paper on Sunday. But yesterday I had to get some patty papers and noticed the sugar and flour half empty again.

I love the sound of the dragon flies with the frog Kiwimade..

Yesterday I measured out ingredients for a baking session this morning.. Its nice and cool with a good breeze blowing through so it will be a pleasure to bake.

I decided to give the spare rooms and bathrooms a quick spruce up yesterday, so Ive only got the living room, sewing room and kitchen to spruce up tomorrow. I will say there is less housework without MrP. the area by his chair and in his bedroom was always covered in flaky skin, popcorn and bread crumbs from home made bread lol.

His surgery has been postponed, No Dr available apparently.. So its Feb 11th now. Which is a Friday so Ill have to make an appointment for another day, if we are still allowed 2 visits a week by then.

Good morning.

Overcast here, we hope for a lot more rain today ... not much so far. Enjoying the non- sunshine days for a break,  at least.

Dentist/hygienist appts this morning,  the hygienist rang yesterday to ask the "covid" questions. It won't be long before their guess is as good as ours as far as being in "places of interest"!

Rest of day to hang out with family before they head back south. School is just around the corner.  Tricky times for parents of school kids, not to mention teachers Sad

Have a good day.

morning ladies Smile  Boy did we have some rain last night!  About 10.00pm-ish it just bucketed down.  Was fantastic to hear it and the garden and lawn are starting to really perk up.

I couldn't believe it when I saw brown sugar at the supermarket yesterday, so it's back on the shelves.

This morning I'm going to try and dislodge a big tree branch that came down overnight.  It's jammed into a V of two branches so it has to be lifted in some way and then pulled out.  I think I can lift  it using the big heavy rake if MrK can pull it at the same time.  I heard it 'crack' in the wee hours while MrK and the Furry One both snored on.

I'm still working on my frog,  just the dragonflies to do now.  Am very happy with my stitching but where I have had the fabric in the hoop has faded so you can slightly see the circle shape of the hoop.  That will teach me to leave my embroidery on the coffee table in the lounge.  Never mind, it's going to be a tote bag so the fading will even out over time.  And it's a lesson learned too.  I forget how sunny this house is.

We had significant rain early evening last night. Garden will have enjoyed it.

Had fun time with my friend, we walked k9s, exercised our jaws ( we can multi task  Big Grin  )

Picked up the dressings I like at Moore Wilsons, explored the local emporium and then had lunch at local restaurant.
I dropped her off late afternoon

Just me and the k9s and cat DH away visiting an elderly sick uncle. I thin, it will be a goodbye visit.

Lots to do this morning housework, walk k9s, get them some food and I really want to look at new phones my battery not good on mine it is 6 years old so can't grumble I suppose

Might bet to the sewing cave this afternoon

Be careful manhandling that lump of wood KM

Have a good day

We had some rain too. not enough for me to hear it tho. And I seldom do as we have a tile roof.

I enjoyed my baking session yesterday. All iced and given away. Barring about 5 small vanilla Bikkies which I love. And will enjoy later.

I realized last night that the house inspection isn't until Friday. I was thinking it was tomorrow, lol So I have a little more time. And Ill have to change my appointment to visit MrP. He was in a grump last night, biting at everything I said. He's been walking up to the toilet up the hall. I think he thinks if he gets stronger he can come home. but that wont be happening.

So today ill do the spots , vacc the sewing room and that will be about it. I dont mind having an inspection in a way. It means the house gets a good tidy up and with it just being me it stays that way for quite a while lol.

May get some crochet done later.

Have a fab day all

Woke up to an ambulance on the drive. Always worrying when that happens, and with one of our neighbours that is becoming an all too frequent event. While we are supposed to be living independently, sometimes when we get very very elderly that becomes impossible, and for her at 90 something she is at that stage where moving into care is the next step. But boy is she fighting it. Refusing all advice, locking her teeth and staying put, forcing her daughters to travel miles every week to bring groceries and clean for her, with home help to do the basics, and an ambulance to calm her fears when her heart does a wee race and bounce. So, when we see the familiar green and yellow ambulance we all wonder for her, if this is the final straw.

This old age thing is a pain.

On a brighter note, I have packages at the door this morning, a couple of TM bargains have arrived to boost my already very fat wardrobe. And excellent buys they are too, very happy Hunni today, a reward perhaps for the decluttering campaign I am in the middle of. Making room for more pretties!!

Not the best start to the day then, glad it improved. I hope I never get to that stage, poor woman.

My ebayau  purchase of the final series of Shameless arrived yesterday which brightened my day up somewhat. And the smartarse Houdini dog has learned to open her crate - oh joy! Angel
