Where can i find a free or cheap PC in Auckland
#1
Hi

Hoping someone can help. I have a friend who lives in Auckland who is a sickness beneficiary and his Windows computer is too old to keep going anymore.
He's in his late 50s, lives alone and simply cannot afford a new one.  He is often in hospital and I'm hoping someone may be able to help him out with a PC with a VGA connection that they are replacing and may want to pass on or sell for a token amount.

He has tried lots of places to find one and WINZ cannot help, apparently, there is a 3-month wait to use the PC at the library?? He lives in the Avondale area.

Many thanks

all fine for basic web browsing and email etc

What do you mean 3 month wait to use PCs at the library? Avondale have heaps. It pays to book during busy periods, but you should usually be able to walk in and use one.
Not as good as having your own of course, but should do in the meantime.

All Auckland libraries have restricted computer use at the moment. Some libraries are applying the 'no more than a half hour inside' rule differently...
