sure its needed, just like they all have to wear hard hats incase a train falls on them

health n safety bollocks

hi vis has become the new invisible

look at every time some new road is opened and the politicians with their gaggle of accompanying head nodders turn up for the "grand opening" they are all wearing hard hats, high vis , safety glasses, no need for any of that, no chance any of them could be harmed by some piece of equipment going haywire

its all part of the nanny state road cone do as your told take the vax we know best single source of truth bullshit

Hi-viz apparel on a worksite is as much to impress on those there that hazards exist and to be mindful of their activities in that regard. Modern H&S protocols are largely required because of the 'somebody else's fault' mindset that is so prevalent in people today. Hi-viz protects people from their own stupidity because that stupidity is a risk to them, their workmates and their employer. Failure to comply can cost money and lives.

There is no limit to the unpredictability and mindless actions of so many in today's world because to a large extent we have been taught that every accident is avoidable and blame is attributable to the weakest link in the worksite chain of command. In other words it is always 'someone else's fault'.

When Winston decides to randomly wander off to take a closer look at whatever project detail takes his unpredictable attentions wearing hi-viz will serve to alert others to the risks he may be taking in an area that he isn't expected to be in. An impetuous old fart such as him is just who should be made as visible as possible for his own protection but he is too self centred and irresponsible to comply with the protocol as the video shows.

Wandering off also refers to the fact that any hangers on to the official party are also easily identified. Why do you think the first thing wrong uns in the movies do is shed that gear first chance they get...

Next time Winnie gets offered hi vi, it better be really flashy. Maybe even neon green...

I watched an interview Moana did with him last week - he didn't answer one question, just wriggled & blustered his way through the entire interview.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I guess we'll need an excessive Hi-Viz hotline

I can't be the only person who thinks Winnie should perhaps do the right thing & retire...

And I can't believe I am the only person who thinks MPs should have an expiry date. Like governments.

I am a terrible person - when I read that, I had this lovely mental image of Winston being informed that his days as a politician were over...

They should have an expiry date though - perhaps 65...

Seems likely. After all, this government set up the road cone hotline, and got masses of calls as a result.

Build it and they will come out from behind those lace curtains, lol. More wasted tax dollars...
