		What about the solar farms ? !!!   There is one going in at Rangiriri at the moment - all that beautiful farmland going to waste !  It was just a maize paddock, they will make more money out of it with power than maize.

		It wasn't a grazing paddock, it was maize/silage...maybe a few cows sometimes.  I was reading a debate about solar farms and why the locations, and someone asked why they didn't use carparks like other countries do.  The mouth of the solar farm company said they need to put them close to power infrastructure - ah, why not the Countdown carpark in Huntly ? Can't get closer than that. Silence.

		Yes, any paddock can have grazing animals, but here in dairy Waikato with a lot of flat land, some paddocks just do a maize/silage cycle every year, they are never grazed.

		Perhaps a part of it is also that more people are becoming vegetarian or vegan, especially in Europe?
