Repco Jumpstarter advice needed

It's a few years old now, and is failing to hold its charge, thereby setting off its earsplitting alarm.  The only way I can shut it up is to plug it back in.   I can't find a manual on line, nor any advice other than that it's not safe to keep it plugged in all the time.

I would like to disable it completely to shut it up.   How do I do this?   I'll try to attach a photo of it.

I can't upload a photo, all too big.  It is a Repco 1200 Amp 12V 22 Ah AGM battery.

If the on/off switch doesnt do it I would have thought another two options are to replace/remove the battery or put it in a suitcase wrapped up in multiple layers of anything until it goes flat

Thanks.   I've unplugged it and taken it out to the garden shed, where it can beep away until it goes flat.  I didn't feel comfortable leaving it plugged in all night when it's clearly faulty.  The beeping might even scare off some of the rats that live there.

I wonder if that is the tone I keep hearing, a double beep, pause then another. I assumed it was a faulty alarm somewhere in the neighbourhood possibly from one of our ghost houses, but surely it would be driving closer neighbours nuts. I have been hearing it for days and nights on end now, so I empathise Olive, it must be immensely annoying closer to hand.

Could well be.   This appliance gives out 5 second single beeps, high pitched and every 10 seconds or so, sounding like a reversing truck .   It is so penetrating that it woke me at 4am on Sat morning despite being at the other end of the house in the garage.   Your noise could also possibly be a fire alarm running out of charge.

My scoots do that. The Neo was ear splitting, but this newer one is quieter thank heavens.
