Boaties, please note - Oh_hunnihunni - 21-12-2021 There is a new and serious biosecurity threat in our harbours and bays, so please take note if you haven't already come across the warnings. https://www.mpi.govt.nz/biosecurity/major-pest-and-disease-threats/caulerpa-brachypus-a-non-native-seaweed?utm_source=DIVENZ_NZUA&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=Caulerpa+Brachypus+Response+Phase+2&utm_content=Social+Post&fbclid=IwAR0aposS7rDPewtuJWBspnt4ysrDXCv_0Svl65Rh1C-4mg5n1YpsfcP_Sms RE: Boaties, please note - Magoo - 21-12-2021 good intel us freshwater boaties wash down between lakes already. fish tank weed, water snot, hydrilla etc. latest scourge is catfish which have been released into the waikato river system and found their way into lake taupo. the salties wash down because they have to. (rust) those boats that travel between harbours and remain moored are the hardest to stop. cleaning the hull of a boat while its in water is quite a task. RE: Boaties, please note - Oh_hunnihunni - 22-12-2021 There are mollies in Lake Taupo too. Round the hot springs areas, but not really a threat to the trout. |
