Covid's not finished with us yet - Praktica - 20-11-2021

Austria is going into a 3 week lockdown - and they have 75% of their adult population vaccinated. They are also making vaccination compulsory from February next year.

no nonsense the Austrians

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Big Daddio - 20-11-2021

That's what we need to do if only someone had the gonads - keep Aucklanders locked down and mandated vaccines, sure to get the antivaxxers squirming...

Better yet, just keep the border locked down and let Dorkland go to level 1 - let them have their precious herd immunity amongst themselves first before spreading it throughout the country. They can be the guinea pigs... I'm sure all the unvaccinated will be just fine Smile

Rest of the country both Islands that is don't need Aucklanders.

In the region where I live almost everyone wears their mask although I have noticed
very few QR scan when going into business premises.
Apart from Christmas parades being canceled life seems as normal as it can be in theses trying times.

Lovely to know after all those weeks in lockdown we have your support.

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Big Daddio - 20-11-2021

Don't get me wrong, you totally have my support - I just don't want your problems in my town.

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-11-2021

Gee, you call that support? It is barefaced Covid nimbyism. Our problems are everyone's problems. Auckland is vaccinated. Doing that is a step in the right direction.

How's your local vax rate? Better than 90% yet?

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Praktica - 20-11-2021

We're at 88%, in Dunedin.

Pleased to hear it. Sensible folk down there, even though some of them seem to think surfing in Antarctic conditions is sane behaviour. Poor dears...

really, Covid nimbyism?  Give me a break... Spreading a virus around the country where people can DIE is not the same as having an neighbourly dispute ...
the middle if a global pandemic is not the best time to be sharing the love
Auckland

So, not up there with us then? Your vax rate?

Wanting the cake but someone else to provide it seems to be the tune you are singing on this delightful summery day...

that makes no sense whatsoever - pandemic? Auckland? 200 cases a day?  anything ringing any bells?

Don't spread it around the country, that's all I'm saying...

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-11-2021

No you aren't! You are saying Aucklanders are the problem, when the reality is the virus is the problem and we ALL need to be proactive against that, not the people who have done their best to protect the rest.

Oh I do like a good stoush. Thank you for not being vanilla... ÔØñ

That's what wetsuits were made for - my 69 year old little brother still surfs here.

You got the brains, he got the good looks then? ;-)

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Big Daddio - 20-11-2021

Aucklanders are only a problem when they leave Auckland, I have real concerns about them moving it around the country when the borders open, hence why I have opinions about it.

For the record I also dislike idiots that travel to Auckland and then bring it back with them, I mean WTF, what was so important you needed to travel to a plague infested city.

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-11-2021

Oh you are upping the ante now, adding nuts in fact...

How long do you want us to stay home so you don't have to worry about an air borne virus? A few more months? A year? Two?

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - TygerTung - 20-11-2021

I don't think attacking people who live in Auckland is helpful.

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-11-2021

It does though give me an opportunity to get grumpy! And you know how much I like being grumpy...

RE: Covid's not finished with us yet - Big Daddio - 20-11-2021

lol, happy to oblige Smile
