Coal is just dead trees, burning it puts more back into the carbon cycle to help speed up more tree growth.
Co2 is a nutrient that plants love.

That's exactly why CO2 enriched hothouses have warning signs for personnel that work in those environments. What's good for plants is not necessarily good for us.
