Flaxseeds - Linseed Q - Wildfern - 11-01-2022

Hey there. IÔÇÖm wanting to try a vintage hair setting lotion that calls for whole flaxseeds. I canÔÇÖt seem to find them┬áanywhere (ground seeds donÔÇÖt┬áwork) but my question is, is Flaxseeds and linseed┬áseeds the same thing? Thanks Smile

Yes, they are the same thing. There are different varieties but the seeds are interchangeable. And particularly for cosmetic use I don't think you need to be concerned. You should be able to find whole flax seeds/linseeds in any health food shop, also Bin Inns. And I think the baking sections of most supermarkets would have them - can't remember the brand but it has pale green packaging. Healtheries?

Cheaper at your local well stocked fruit and vegie shop. Ours are around $2 for 500gms.

Awesome thank for that. Will try my local veggie stall. Supermarket far too busy (for my liking)
today.

What would you use them for in baking?

RE: Flaxseeds - Linseed Q - Olive - 15-04-2022

They are used in low carb breads and in seedy crackers, also in gluten-free muesli I think.

You can use them as an egg substitute, boil some up and it makes a thick gel.
